Time to reactivate this old thread. It looks like we have them all in one spot. Old Pentax brochures... some old magazines (including Modern Photography from the '50's).. and other old sales brochures. These are located in Canada. I'm not sure if the rules dictate that I must post in the for sale section with a price, or if pm'ing is allowed?...

In Edmonton they are saying the largest is at 9:30 mountain time. Not sure how that applies to Quebec. Do you have a local science center? They would know. (Other than that, I know it will rise in the east.)

Not the best but I've found this to be a good lens for sunny days, when you need the range. For example... Disneyworld...the beach.

With regards to hcarvalhoalves comment, at the very least we could generate a spreadsheet if it hasn't already been done...

I'm embarrassed to say that while searching for threads on this topic, I came across one I posted a few years back asking this same question. (I guess my wife is correct, I am losing it.)
Thanks for the feedback. I will search through the menu of my K5 and see if it jumps out at me. (In the meantime, I'll keep watching this thread for futher wisdom.)
thx

The lenses that I have are all Pentax and include:
FA 31 LTD, FA 77 LTD, DA*50-135, 10-17 fisheye, 35 LTD macro, DA 18-250. Truth be told I am very happy with each one of them. If one had to go, it would likely be the 35 LTD as I don't seem to need the macro functionality (and if I did, the 10-17 does provide some macro functionality.)
It's interesting to hear the 55 mentioned in such a positive light. (I think I'm going to read the reviews on the lens.)

I'm not sure if I should be posting this in the lens, or the DSLR forum, but here goes...
I was doing a search, trying to determine the various "sweet spot apertures" for my Pentax lenses, and came across an old post that stated: "using MTF programming. Every lens has a sweet spot that will result in the best shot using a particular aperture and shutter speed for a given situation. For all Pentax DA, D FA, FA and FA J lenses, this information is encoded and if you set the program line in "Custom Settings" to MTF, the camera will automatically choose the best settings for each lens. I know that this may be a statement of the obvious for the more experienced Pentax users but I wanted to mention this topic for the Pentax newbies who own a K10D or K20D and may have glossed over this item while reading the owners manual (or maybe haven't read that part) and potential buyers of Pentax cameras or lenses. So often I see a thread asking whether to buy a Pentax lens or a third party lense of about the same focal length and I think that for me, I usually prefer the Pentax brand because they make great lenses and you also get this extra. I know that experienced users have reasons to set the aperture or shutter speed to a different setting for many reasons but isn't it nice to have a reference point to work from, especially if you are new to DSLR's as so many people are these days. If this is function is important to you, it may also be a reason to buy a K20D over a K200D as I don't believe this function is available on the K200D. Anyway, hopefully this post will be helpful and informative for someone who wasn't aware of it."
Is this also true of the K5? Or is there a list identifying the sweet spots for the various lenses?
Thanks in advance...

With my K10D, a second folder was never created until the first folder reached a certain size (big). Interestingly, with my K5 a seperate folder seems to be created for each day. This is regardless of the size of the card being used.
I'm thinking that I should reset all features in the K5 (and determine/upgrade the firmware)?...

Thanks for the feedback all.
It has happened on two seperate cards. Both had been reformatted in the K5 before use. Both are PNY 16GB C10 (or whatever you call the speed).
As the camera is only a couple of weeks old, My question is, should I see if I can get it replaced (if the feeling is that this could be a camera issue that I must deal with for years to come.) Or is the general feeling that it is definately a card issue.
As mentioned, thanks for the feedback...
PS Day three, a third folder has been created for todays shots. Shots in todays folder seem to be ok. They survive a power down of the camera and the moving of the card to the computer. As a result, it seems the constant is the 2nd folder. What's odd is that it is the second forlder on both cards. Perhaps I'll try a third card and see if it reoccurs. (I will reformat 3 cards...take some pictures today...then when I take pictures tomorrow the 2nd folder should appear. We'll see what happens.)

Thanks for the feedback. The card was formatted in the camera two days ago. Are there some SD cards that are not compatible? I tried searching to see if this problem had been mentioned before, but no luck...

Ok, the first time this happened, I thought as it was a new camera with different functions, I must have been the cause. Now I'm not so sure.
I have just taked a couple of pictures with my K5. I reviewed them, then popped the card to take a better look at them on the computer, and somehow they are gone. (I'm 90% sure that the power was turned off on the camera when I popped the card as this is a practice that was consistant with the old camera as well.)
What does seem to be common to the last time it happened is that the recent pictures were in a secondary folder. The secondary folder shows as still being on the card, but it is empty?! (This has happened with two different cards.)
Suggestions are appreciated!
thx
OK, the good/bad news is that it is doing it constantly now. I take a few pictures...review them to make sure they are there...everything is fine. As soon as I power down the camera, the new pictures are gone (while the pictures from yesterday remain)?...

OK, let me put it another way. I've just upgraded my K10D to a K5. Is there anyone on the forum that lives in Edmonton, that uses a K10D that wants a free battery? (I'd rather not go through the hassle of mailing it anywhere.)
thx
