I don't know about effectiveness of marketing, but Pentax is very visible in the Tokyo camera stores these days.

K-01 interval shooting with manual lens

I use mostly screw mount lenses on my -01. Use the Av mode for aperture priority auto exposure. I use the screw mount lenses in 'Manual' diaphram mode since the camera has no way to push in the stop-down pin.

I've found Pre-A K-mount to be the only trouble lenses. The camera doesn't know what aperture you have selected on them. Actually, I'm not sure I've ever mounted an A lens.

You might want the "Using Aperture Ring" on the C-3 menu page set to '2' to allow shooting with the aperture ring off 'A'.

Right now, my K-01 shutter won't open. Ever. No live view, no exposure, so I can't go dig up my single 'A' lens to even try it. Trying to decide what I want to do about that condition...

I'm happy with my K-01. I use it almost exclusively with old M-42 screw mount lenses. I'm not too happy with the way "Pre-A" K-mount lenses work on the thing, but M-42 with the Pentax adapter work well.

yeah, I think the point of the vents is to see through with a viewfinder, but if that's what you've found, and it works... I think there was a hit when I searched for "27mm lens hood" at either Amazon or B&H, but I haven't bought one.

Lens hoods, in general, can potentially increase overall contrast and reduce flare points. I use them whenever I can.

I fix it to the camera because I'm mostly using manual focus lenses. Focus and aperture with my left hand, grip and whatever else with my right. If I'm doing auto-everything, it works fine to hold the hood with my left hand.

I'm liking the K-01 with the hoodman a lot.

I like the hoodman loupe for my K-01. I have attached it to the camera with cotton wrapped elastic hair ties. Considerably more expensive and bulky than the Delkin Shade but I'm old enough that I appreciate the adjustable lens, and the light shielding is excellent.

Hi,

New member here. Longtime Pentax film camera user, just acquired a K-01 for a good price. I'm liking it with M42 and manual focus K lenses!
