Production of black Pentax K-3 Mark III stopped???!!!

Ricoh stated that they are committed to DSLR when they came out with the K-3III. We don't know if they're making money in photo gears or not. Maybe according to their analysis the demand for the K-3III has been reached and is now on the decline phase. Who knows. We can only speculate. If I had some spare cash I would've bought 2 units of K-3III. I'm still hoping for the best for Ricoh. I hope they can attract more customers to keep the photo sector profitable.

Wow. They've closed the plant here in the Philippines. This certainly is news for me being in the Philippines. I guess, the increase in labor cost plus the increase in real property taxes have pushed Ricoh to shift its location to save in production costs. I can't argue with that. If the figures dictates that it should be done, then it should be done.:):):)

Hmmm. That might explain it. I'll look into this. Though this is the first time that it happened to me. I've been doing this procedure a lot. Thanks.

My friends and I didn't notice any light flickering at that time. The light was constant. Hmmm, weird. But I'll take a look at the link you gave. Thanks

Weird experience using timer

I took a picture using the timer function with the camera set on APERTURE PRIORITY (Av). I added an additional stop since we were back lighted. I checked the camera and the aperture was set to f6.3 and the speed was 1/80. To my surprise the picture was under exposed. So I took another shot and the second shot was also under exposed. I took a shot still using aperture priority disengaging the timer and using the single frame setting. The picture came out with the perfect exposure. Upon investigating, I found that when I used the time, the speed changed in the first picture to 1/400 with an aperture of f6.3 and the second time picture with a speed of 1/500 and an aperture of f6.3. I shifted to manual mode (M) and took a picture using the 12 second timer setting the camera speed to 1/80 and the aperture to f8.0 as indicated by the camera. The pictures came out ok.
I'm a bit curious if anyone has experienced the same incident. It's a bit weird that the speed would change using the timer of the camera.

This is the first time that I experienced this. I'm using a k-3II. Lens used is 18-135.

I think there will be a reduction in Pentax users here in my part of the woods, Iloilo City, Philippines. A photographer, a good one at that started to dump his lenses to Pentax users here. He chatted with me through FB Messenger if I had a 55-300.mI told him I had an HD copy and that I had it before the PLM version came out. He said that he was selling his and it was in like new condition as it was stored in his dry box. He plans to sell it to another Pentax user he knows. He said he's using a Nikon 200-500. I think he bought a mirrorless Nikon. So I guess, we'll be getting smaller here in Iloilo. Such a sad day. Another Jedi Pentaxian has turned to the dark side.

Campanario De Jaro. The old belfry was built by the Augustinian friars in 1744. It was damaged by an intensity 7 earthquake known as "Lady Caycay” on Jan. 25, 1948 leaving only the lower portion of the tower. The tower was restored 74 years after.

Nice advertisement. Very moving. If this were a Pentax advertisement, it was definitely pointing to hobbyists and photo enthusiasts. Very well made.

I'm using a K-3II and a K-5II. Basing on my experience, in terms of AF.S, Pentax will suffice. However, in terms of AF.C, it's not at par with the other system. Still, there are ways to work around it and achieve desired results.

You don't need anybody's opinion. If you feel that Sony is a better option for you, then go for it. It's supposed to be a fun hobby. Get your gears and enjoy them. Don't let anybody talk you out of your decision. :):):)[

Hi guys. I know this thread is over a year old. I'm using a YN585 ex and I'm currently using cactus flash trifgea. At times the trigger misfires. Is there a Yongnou flash trigger compatible to Pentax?. Thanks.

I STRONGLY AGREE. Never compare yourself or your gears with others. Focus on what you like and don't let other people's opinion drive you. I'm sure majority of us here would have very similar reasons why we chose Pentax. When others ask me why Pentax, I simply say I've made my own assessment and it fits my needs. Majority would make a follow up comment and I would just simply say, this is what I like. That ends the interrogation.:lol::lol:

We were on top of an open double decker bus. We weren't able to go down but at least I saw the Arch of Triumph. I miss travel photography. I hope I can do it again.

Agree. Amazon maybe needed to cut costs and DPR might not have provided the expected benefits to Amazon. The cost of maintaining the program might not be justifiable. Who knows?
