Hi Octopussy_france
Thanks for the advice, I am waiting on an adapter to use the raynox 250 on a fixed focal length lens that I currently have so I will see how that works. I also have some reversing rings on order to try some lenses reversed to see what kind of results I get (hoping for better detail and wider DOF).
Thankyou again
Mark

Hi ToyTank
Thanks for your comments, I have also heard of putting insects in the freezer or fridge to slow them down but to do stacks with them they need to be perfectly still for a couple of minutes hence the dead insect in my case.
I like very much your photograph of the bees (?) above especially the detail of the hairs which you do not see very well with the naked eye. It also shows the kind of detail and DOF possible because of the dedicated macro lens (tammy 90 and dcr250) that I cannot achieve with my 80-200mm zoom lens and dcr250
You should give stacking a go, I have found it very rewarding and all you need is a tripod and macro rails and the computer program (available free) to stack the images together.
Thank you
Mark

Thankyou Octopussy_france for your comments, yes the orchid photo does not show the real colour.#
The Bee is not a stack just a photo to see DOF using the raynox dcr 250
I cannot provide a link to the bee photo as it is just uploaded from my computer. A problem I have is that with the standard file type that my camera shoots in (jpg) I have to crop the photos a lot (down from 6MB) to fit in the allowed space.
Below is a photo taken today with 80-200mm and raynox dcr250 (I'm not sure its quite in focus or it might be just my eyes)
Thankyou
Mark

Hi, my name is Mark and I'm new to Photography and I particularily like Macro photography. I have just posted (for my first time ever in any forum) in the Raynox thread so I hope It comes out alright. The Raynox dcr250 is what I'm learning at the moment on various different lenses and finding it an interesting challenge.
Thankyou
Mark

Hi, this is my first posting on this forum (or any forum). Orchid photograph taken with Lumix G2, kit 14-45 lens and dcr250 and is my first attempt at a stack.
Bee (naturally deceased) photograph taken with Lumix G2 , Prinzflex (?) 80-200mm (set to @130mm), dcr250 and home made flash diffuser.
Advice and comments welcome to a novice
