I have a question. Since I am new I have been doing alot of practicing with my lens. I have started with messing with shutter speed and apture I mostly leave ISO alone. I like to go back and look at the different setting and determine the effects. Since I amusing manual lens I can't get the apture infro later. Any suggestion on what I should do so I can understand that better?

There is a consignment store near me so I find myself browsing there lens on a pretty regular basis. I am mostly just looking but I have noticed that the older manual lens have a series of numbers written round the lens. Does any one know what those numbers mean?

Your right the one of the right is a Tokina 28/2.8 there is no adapter on it. is Is it a Cannon mount. I have a Nex and I am looking for an adapter.

I also have a question about filters. I have been doing some reading. Filters will help with some of the lightigng issues I have been having with the the sky. I don't know which filters will fit my lens. How doe one go about fitting filters to lens?

I haven recently gotten into the manual lens. I like the price and they make me kook like a real photographer. I am into mostly landscape photography. I currently have a 50mm (don't know the aperture at work), are the standard 18-55mm that came with my Nex is there any other lenses I should add to my collection? Also any brands that I should be looking for?

Thanks guys this has been super helpful. I actually prefer my manual lens to the autofocus one I have now. I think it make me feel like I know what I am doing when I adjust my lens myself.

I have recently gotten into the manual focus lenses (due to price). I have a Sony Nex5N and a few pentax k-mount lens. I have a 50mm prime which is great but I also have a 70-200mm. There are lines on the camera that I do not understand these lines and am looking for a little insight on them. Can anyone help. Below is an example of the lines I see on my camera.
