Hey everyone! I just got back from over two weeks in the US leading Workshops, a week in Death Valley and one around the Southwest, and while I don't have any new images done yet, since I used my Phase One IQ4 Achromatic back pretty much exclusively during the trip, I got inspired to share some old B&W work from Death Valley. Can't wait to be back to Death Valley in less than a month!

Not pleasant to think about, but here's what we are looking at: The female wasp lays her eggs under the skin of the horn worm, they hatch and feed on the worms innards while spinning a white cocoon externally, they hatch and fly away which weakens and kills off the horn worm in the process. So for those organic gardeners out there, this is a good thing! Tomato horn worms are really hungry and can devour a plant in short order, so the wasps are a natural pesticide. This horn worm was on one of our tomatillo's, and the advice from our local master gardener, was to leave it alone. The wasps are also pollinators so good for gardens, bad for horn worms! These wasps are in the Braconidae family...learn something new everyday!

6th Avenue is an old name in photography sales. They sell gray market often (non USA products in USA market). The comments seem to bear that out.
Electronics basket looks like a real bad idea to buy from. Looks like a bunch of fake reviews (name and 5 stars, no details) and two 1 star reviews with details.
I suggest steering clear and buying used for a discount and a reputable seller.

Storms were brushing the high ridge, trailing scraps of evaporating rain, called virga. As partial rainbows flickered and faded, and for a moment it looked like this. Luckily, I was there.

These are the very first film photos I have had developed!! These are my first photos (that I like) on my Pentax K1000. I was a little disappointed when I saw the light leaks on some of my other photos but reminded myself that now I know my camera works and all it needs is a new light seal!! I attached one of the photos with the light leak, I believe my flash was too bright as well. A lot of practice is still needed but it is definitely a hobby I want to keep up!!
