K100 Super Owner...waiting

Yeah I could see how for birds and wildlife those considerations would be paramount. I mostly shoot people at events (birthday parties, weddings, kids playing) both outdoors and indoors. The biggest improvement for my purposes I would anticipate as faster AF and MUCH improved ISO. Mine starts getting pretty ugly at 1600 even.
I just keep hoping (against hope?) that the articulated screen will be introduced. I'll buy a new body within 1 year, regardless if they add the screen or not.

Dan, that's a good point. If Pentax was going to do an articulated screen, the k500 would have been the place, because it is not weather sealed, and it would have been a new feature that would have differentiated the otherwise unremarkable update of the K30.

Would I gain more by upgrading my k100 to a k30/50/500 now, or upgrading the old kit lens to a tamron 18-50 2.8 and holding out another year or so for the body?

Hello Pentaxians:

Long time lurker, first time registrant. K100 Super user since 2008. Don't take TOO many pictures so I haven't had the need to upgrade just yet. Kind of waiting for the next great thing from Pentax now that my kids are getting a little older and I may start taking some toddler shots and 'kids sports' shots. What am I looking for? Basically, a 20mp K5ii with articulating screen. That's it. I know I'll never need a FF, and weather sealing is less important to me (being in California) than the articulated screen. I like the top LCD of the K5ii (over say, the K30), but don't need the 'no AA filter' of the K5iis.

Why Pentax?
-Budget in large part. Their bodies are just less expensive, and I can shoot older lenses.
-Image Quality. Everything I've seen shows the best Pentax APS-C is better than anyone elses.
-100% viewfinder
-Don't like Nikon's menus.
That's it, that's the list. (TK reference anyone?)

Anyway happy to be here. I'll probably remain a lurker more than an active poster but hope I can jump in from time to time and get some questions answered, which is much more likely than actually answering anyone else's questions.

+1 for me. Pentax really needs to tout the fact that you can use all old lenses, and make that as easy as possible if they want to sell more bodies under current conditions.

Obviously the focal distances and apertures are different, but is there any general consensus on which of the two has better image quality between the 50 and 35 2.4? I hear so much about the 35 'plastic fantastic' and not much at all about the 50 1.8. I prefer the 35 2.4 but am trying to get my hands on a 17-50 2.8 first, then deciding on if there is any reason for me to pick up the 35 (I like that focal length better than 50, but if the 50 is better, I'd be willing to look at that too).
