why I won't buy a k3 (Warning: Satire Thread)

Absolutely....he truly deserves a reward, not just for the sheer brilliance of the op, the the strength of character and fortitude to just set the topic running while standing back and watching the resulting chaos from afar....never tempted to rejoin.

A bit like blofeld and the white cat from the Bond movies.

Anyhow, I vote we ask Pentax to award him a K3 plus a Ricoh jacket for services to raising the K3 profile in the world. Not that he would accept mind you.

Hey, I was there at the start and I did put a pretty heavy shift in during the early days.

But I had to take a break, I felt I was really giving it my all during the 1500 to 2000 post period. I was burned out.

So, my only question.....has the op ever resurfaced....

If I feed our bulldog cheese, it's farts can strip gloss paint......

I did once feed the pugs jalapeno pepper and cheese pizza. Luckily I went away on business for three days but the poo odour was still in the air when I got home. The wife still hasn't forgiven me for that one.

No pugs exist, my wife bought two of the little ****'s.

Depuglism is the technique of throwing one as far as you can when it tries to get under the duvet.

Depuglis exists, but pet inspectors frequent these forums so I best not elaborate.

What happened....I took a break for Christmas to eat pork pie and imported French cheese and I come back to nearly 50 pages of unread posts.

I'm assuming I don't need to read then ask as the topic won't have deviated very much...

And no, I didn't buy a k3... I'd have compromised if Santa had dropped one down the chimney, but he didn't.....

I'd never given any thought to calibrating the auto focus until this thread, but it's obvious when you think about it.

So I used the process from the JF blog and was absolutely blown away by the difference.

Once I'd adjusted to -4 on my k5ii, the images just pop. I'd done done test images before on leaves, but after, you could see veins, ridge patterns, etc.

Well worth the half hour of messing around.

Do you think it's ok if I unsubscribe for Christmas so that I can focus on the traditional raised pork pie that I have made. Once eaten, I will return.

For those concerned, I will not buy a k3 while on my pie sabbatical.

Merry Christmas.

I knew someone would go there.
It doesn't work I'm afraid.

If, like me, you occasionally find yourself standing for the national anthem while inadvertently naked, you would simply be observed from the aft direction with the word 'rich' across your buttocks.

And then we are back at boarding school all over again

Mind you better than 'cann'

This line of thought also explains why hasselblad owners have that pained expression, I thought it was just the price.

I've just realised that I may have proven the O.P's argument.

Tattooing 'Pentax' on your butt works.....'pen'.....'tax' artistically sound.

Can't do that with Nikon or Canon...no sir, those five letter words just don't work on the average butt. No symmetry you see...

So that also applies to Ricoh....five letter word again....

So had the OP declared he was never going to buy a Ricoh branded Pentax because of the butt tattoo incompatibility issues I'd have been...err... right behind him on this one and this thread may never have reached this legendary status.

Would photocopying your Pentax butt tattoo on a Ricoh copier be appropriate, or a pointed comment about the commercialization of imaging equipment.

Given his apparent commitment I'd be very disappointed if he doesn't have Pentax tattooed across both cheeks

But that excludes those having cheese based humor at the expense of the op! Surely they are not mutually exclusive

I don't want to have to segregate my sarcasm

I'm quite new to photography and still learning.

How does the name on the outside affect the quality of the picture? Should I be writing hasselblad on the back of my camera to make my pictures better....

Please help as I'm worried I'm getting it really wrong....

Anyone else miss the K200D?

I always wondered if I had a faulty k200. Bought new in 2008, I really struggled with it, colors were always totally washed out.

After throwing it in a box a few times and giving up on photography, my wife bought me some lessons, and sure enough, day one, the instructor came to the same conclusion. In order to get good color, we had to wind the exposure up to at least 1.3 or more, often to max.

It's now back in it's box and I'm enjoying photography again with a k5.

Unless anyone can suggest a solution?

K5 plus Sigma 50mm

I'm exactly the same as you, I upgraded from a k200 to a k5 three weeks ago and was totally amazed to be sat with the kids in the evening snapping away with a Pentax 50mm 1.4.

It's the colour that blows me away, plus the total control of everything. I always felt there was something wrong with the color balance on the k200 and this has confirmed it
