This lens looks like it is very clean and in great shape. I love the way this lens works on the k-1. It has always been a great lens, but it is a treat to use on the k-1.

I'll have to revisit because there are so many really GREAT designs it's tough to narrow them down. Excellent work to all!

I am very surprised that it doesn't look like they will be offering a viewfinder as an accesory. That is unfortunate imho.

I absolutely LOVE that the battery is the same as the k-5. If the reviews are good and the users like this camera, I'm sure I'll add it to my collection of *stds, k-10, k-20, k-x and k-5!

Thank you for the directions guys. I just got a second k-5 on the lightening deal at amazon and I received it Wednesday. I am normally very careful about formatting cards before I use them because I have so many diffent pentax dslrs. But this time in my haste I did not. I didn't want my brand new k-5 to be on frame 9,000 something like my first k-5. So with your direction I was able to fix my blunder. When I viewed in PhotoME I see that I was the first person to trip the shutter on my new k-5 which is weird since the package looked like it was repacked and not "factory fresh". Hey, I don't care how the pack it as long as it is new and it seems to be if PhotoME is an indicatior. Thanks again!

I'm not sure how this works exactly and yes I've read the guidelines but I'll throw my hat in the ring here.

Thank you both for your replies. Jeff, indeed it was the Olympus OM body viewfinder that I was looking for. I managed to find them on ebay. I bought 2 for about $11.00 shipped but they didn't fit very well. I knew I was on the right track though. I then found a seller with a lot of 10 available for $22.00 shipped. When I got those, they were made by the same manufacturer that I had before that I loved so much. YIPEE! Now I have replacements if I need them again.
I wonder if they would fit on the k-5? I'll be getting the k-5 sometime next year. Hopefully the price will come down, it is too expensive for my pocket at the current price.
Again, thank you both for your help. I appreciate it!

I had bought a couple eyecups and they have both fell apart. I loved them while they lasted though. They are a round eyecup. The back has a metal plate and it has glass installed too that helps keep the viewfinder clean. I believe it was an olympus replacement part but I don't remember what type.
I do have a eyecup that I bought off ebay that has all of the different manufactures adapters to make it fit, but it stands out too far from the camera and I don't like the teardrop shape as much as I like the round one.
I am hoping someone else here knows what I am talking about. It has been years (since the k10d was first released) that I bought the eyecups and I just don't remember.
thank you in adavance for any help you can provide.

Rats I just realized that the POD started this month. I've been really under the weather and forgot all about this exercise that I was looking forward to. I uploaded some images off a card yesterday and realized I hadn't taken any photos since the 31st of last month which isn't like me at all. Let alone using only one specific lens. The only reason I even uploaded the cards in my cameras was because I took first day photos of my youngest son going to school yesterday. I'm just posting this to appologise for not joining in, and to be sure to get e-mail alerts so I can follow you all! Good luck.

As fantastic as the k-x handles high iso noise, I agree there are features that are missing to take ultimate advantage of the fact. I don't think anyone would disagree that a pentaprism would be nice. Oh my! I actually forgot about how loud the k-x is and how quiet the k-7 is! Folks I spoke to about it seemed to think it was because of the weather sealing that the k-7 is quiet. The difference is stark though, no doubt about that!
I've been eye balling the 4/3'd cameras with interest. I was really hoping Pentax would wow me with an amazing new release. I'm still holding on to hope. We'll see.

You are making it easy. If I just have to use a particular lens (but not exclusively) each day for month. The part that I've found difficult is taking a photo a day. I am more of a natural every-other-day type shooter. Even for a month, a photo a day gets old after 30 days. The two times I've done a POD for a month, I've been glad when it was over.
I am not sure this is a cure for LBA. I have a theory about LBA though...I think it is cured when you are completely saturated. Different folks have different levels to get there. For some photographers 10 or more 50mm primes is not too many. Some only need one. :)
To make more of a challenge for me I'd have to use the 43ltd. I've owned that lens for years and haven't used it much at all. It just never inspired me. But I think I'd rather have a love affair with the 77ltd instead. My new(ish) 15mm would be a challenge. hmmmm...decisions, decisions. Glad I have a couple weeks to think about it.

I just hope someone I know wins the k-x. I know I'm not going to go post crazy just to add up a tally count of high posting. But I do hope someone wins the k-x that will love it as much as I love mine!
Thanks Adam for such a cool give away!

I put an inquiry in for qdoan's k10d listing but have not heard from him. I've pm'd you about the k10d body only. I would like to purchase it if you get someone interested in buying the grip, as I am only interested in the body.
thank you.

Thank you for posting the key to figure out what time it would be in L.A. Adam. That helped me out a lot. I'm afraid I probably won't be able to use my Pentax dslr, but I might get away with using my W60. I'll have to take my 10 minute break at work at exactly the right time to be clicking at the right time on Friday night at 5pm. I have no idea what I'll aim the camera AT though. ;-)
This is a fun idea Adam. The facebook link is a good idea too.
