I doubt very much it is glued. Pentax Q flange distance is 9.2 mm. And if total stack thickness is about 1 mm, then topmost glass surface must lie deep inside bayonet flange. I don't remember if I measured it or not, top glass appears to me to lie much shallower than ~8 mm.
My camera was never serviced.

There's a difficult dust spot that I failed to remove many times. When illuminated by moving light source, the shadow moves noticeably, so I know this isn't problem in sensor itself. I know in many cameras there's air gap between sensor cover glass per se and IR cut filter...
Any hints about how much work it'd need to remove it?
(I don't understand at all why they it designed this way. It would make sense it they made IR cut filter oversized and fixed and sensor with thinner glass moving under it, thus making less mass for IBIS unit to move and exposing fixed glass to outside.)

I have bumped the rear of the lens into Q sensor more than one time; the camera still functions fine. Though, I would sure need to check it IBIS when turned off aligns with optical axis -- some of M12 lenses don't cover all sensor and having asymmetric vignetting is a boo-boo. I am not sure if this thing was present in my camera when it was new.

Compare this DA21 to Canon EF-M 22/2 STM: more than a stop faster, cheaper, and 105 grams vs. 150 grams while the EF-M lens has AF motor and DA21 doesn't. The lens barrel in the EF-M is small enough so it could poke inside of K-mount.

It's not the rear element, it's exit pupil position... which people constantly confuse

Thanks, yes it works. Blocked courtesy of Nanny Government, so I had to turn on some plugins to see it.
But I don't like the concept cam xD

I used such adapter printed on very cheap 3d printer and didn't like it. I guess this depends much on printer and plastic used.

it's rather crude thing with RMS mount, I use M39 adapter and some duct tape to attach the Q in place of eyepiece.

Thanks, strangely only after your answer I was able to find it.
Actually taking time to half-press shutter to avoid camera getting in standby mode wastes more than this feature ever saves.

I am using the Q (first version) mounted on a microscope. And it's quite annoying that if there are no buttons pressed, it decreases brightness then switches off. Is there a menu option to disable it?

Cool, didn't know it was on my Q too! Also would need to turn off immediate playback.
Need to check if it conserves power in timelapse.

Here they are (note that probably none of these patent examples exactly matches production designs, but they are quite close. I think example 7 matches most the 5-15) Espacenet - Original document Espacenet - Original document
Usually a lens design cannot be made faster just by increasing diameter of elements. E.g. take any nifty fifty 50/1.8, the front element needs some edge thickness to be mounted, interior menisci, if continued, will run into aperture.
However, the 5-15 lens could have been easily f/1.8-2.8, the elements in the 3rd group are quite thick and it's not the focusing group, which is 2nd group which is of one element and already has enough diameter for faster f-stop. So they could be made bigger without any changes for slower apertures.

What is canon XL? I googled and found compact camera with fixed lens and rather large camcorder.

I use phone that is 15 mm thick and I'm happy with it; there is no real reason why it needs to be thinner. However, Pentax Q mount is terribly oversized compared to 1/1.7" sensor it houses. Phone mount should be small like M12 board mount. ---------- Post added 03-18-16 at 06:39 PM ----------
The problem is, making this detachable camera operable with various kind of phones is difficult. This is why DXO made camera for Iphones and not Androids, which are loosely standartized.

It's a good idea until you remember K-mount has screwdriver and aperture levers. ---------- Post added 03-18-16 at 06:26 PM ----------
You can mount K lenses on their M mount module already.... Novoflex Lens Adapter for Pentax K Lens to Leica M LEMPENT-NT
GXR idea is very silly. It's basically battery grip with interchangeable cameras which contained to expensive components (like, say 2.4 MP or 4 MP EVF)

Their higher-endedness is only in one component, the expensive sensor. Otherwise mirrorless cams have much less screws and levers.

I had a similar problem with camera turning off immediately after being turned on. I've found it was loose SD card door sensor. I put a paper do it to make it always "closed". I decided not to use warranty repair -- it could take months.
