hello, my name is alan i am a 63 year old englishman i live in the north east of England in a place called Shhorpe. May i firstly say thankyou for giving me the chance to win your 50mm lens, here are my thoughts and reasons as to why i think i should win the lens. I served in the british army for over 25 years and travelled all over the world , the best place i visited was a place in south America called Belize ,formerly known as British Honduras ,whilst there i saw many things that i had never seen before and as i only owned a cheap point and shoot camera i dont have many photo,s to enjoy only my memories this could also be said of other places like Norway, Germany and others.in 1983 whilst still serving i underwent open heart surgery having a triple bypass, during my rehabilitation i became aware that time was passing and i didnt have anything to remind me of all the things i had seen and done so i bought a better camera and started taking more photos , taking a camera with me on a day out became the norm. i retired from the Army in 1990 and began a new life in civvy street . i have always enjoyed the great outdoors and when due to my health i retired from work completely. i decided i liked taking photos so i bought myself a pentax x70 and took many more photos especially of my grandchidren. recently having saved up i treated myself to a new camera a pentax k50,i bought the k50 because of its weatherproofing qualities .i spend a lot of time outdoors i am keen fisherman and take my camera with me .i have so far taught myself ,with the aid of the forum and youtube and have now enrolled in a DSLR Photography course in February 2015. i own three lenses at the moment i got an18/55 mm with the camera and then bought a second hand Tamron 70/300 lens from ebay ,a couple of months ago having saved my pennies i bought myself a brand new Pentax 100 macro wr as i am fascinated by the little creatures in our world . i would love to own your lens i know i am missing this type of lens and would love the time spent taking photos with it . so if i am lucky enough to be chosen to have the lens i am sure it will get used regularly and not spend its life in a camera bag, once again thankyou for the opportunity and hope you like my reasons enough for me to be the lucky one , yours alan .

hi everyone ,i,m very new to all this ,not just the photography but also leaving posts and all that stuff.i,m 63 years old and have just bought my first dslr camera a k50. all the jargon you all use is new to me and a little confusing but i,m beginning to get "the picture"...i have taken a few pics using a trial and error method . i particularly like the great outdoors and am looking forward to the better weather .any advice on the way to approach photography would be greatly appreciated.
