Thanks Eric! All of the cameras and lenses that you've serviced for me have been working just fine and dandy. I really appreciate the fine work you do with these old cameras and lenses.

Just had another Pentax MX serviced by Eric. Superb job yet again. This MX needed some adjustments to the meter and shutter speeds, as well as a mirror replacement. Good for another 40 years, I'd say!

I can also vouch that the SV and SP viewfinders are comparable. And now that you've got me thinking about my SV again...I think it's time to load another roll in it and go shooting!

PedroT - sent you a PM to let you know where I got my SV.

I've got an SV with the red/orange 'R'. It is one of my favorite 35mm SLRs to use when I want to take a step away from DSLRs and go back to the basics. I usually have a 55mm/1.8 Takumar on mine, though sometimes I'll use a 35mm/3.5 with it too.

Which film body to pick up next?

I've got two MX cameras (one in silver, one in black). I love shooting w/ the MX - the size is nice, I love the viewfinder, and I prefer LEDs for low light work (but a match needle otherwise). I'd like to complete the collection with a KX and a LX at some point, though. Just amazes me how much an LX still goes for. I'm either going to try and find one that had been recently serviced by Eric Hendrickson...or take my chances with a cheap one from the 'bay and have Eric service it.

Wow. Sorry to hear that you're having so many problems with USPS. Things are different here in AK - USPS tends to be quite reliable...I've had far more problems with the other guys. Eric did beautiful work on my Spotmatic and Program Plus. I'd like to send him an MX when I get money saved up. And possibly find a cheap LX somewhere and have him do his magic on it.

Got a package in the mail from Eric last night. It was like Christmas! Two beautifully serviced cameras and a lens were in the package. Definitely a happy (repeat) customer here. Now if only I could find someone like Eric for my non-Pentax SLRs...

Sent him a Spotmatic SP and a Takumar 55mm f/1.8 for a CLA on Monday. Got an email from him this morning confirming receipt and sent him payment right away. He responded confirming receipt of my payment within 5 minutes of completing the transaction. He's definitely on top of things. Can't wait to see the magic he'll perform on my camera and lens. :)

Why Do YOU Still Use Film SLR's?

I love the warmth, look, and 'feel' that film gives my photos. I like how highlights aren't so easily blown out with film, and that there's detail within the noise of even 'noisy' high ASA film. The noise is more organic and pleasant, too. I like that I tend to shoot as though I'm trying to get my money's worth from a roll of film - I don't just start rapid-firing in hope that I'll get a good shot. My hit/miss ratio is considerably better with film. I love the raw experience of shooting film with a manual focus SLR - it is very tactile and makes me feel like I am one with the equipment. The best part about shooting film (in my eyes, anyway), is getting the results back in the mail...sometimes weeks after I have sent it off for processing. It's like Christmas every time. I grew to love photography shooting film and would not have my DSLRs today if it weren't for film.

Got my Program Plus back from Eric Hendrickson right at lunch time. The camera looks as good as new, with new seals and everything. :) I was so excited that I loaded it up with a roll of Fuji Superia 400 and shot nearly the entire roll. Camera seems to be working just fine now! :)

I've got a Program Plus and a 35-105mm f/3.5 lens at his shop as we speak. Had another shop look at the camera and they claimed they could not get the parts to repair it (without even looking at the camera). Just got an invoice from Mr. Hendrickson...keeping my fingers crossed that he's got the parts to get it going and tuned-up. Once I get my Program Plus back, I'll be sending him a Honeywell Spotmatic and Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8 his way. :)
