Sorry for the delay, I am very busy these days. That's also the reason why I cannot comment on each of your photos, as I would like to do. The winner is Ivan - his picture is a very smart realisation of the theme, the escalators make for a great composition, and the motive itself is a pleasant sight. Well done! Now it's up to you, Ivan, to host the next challenge.

Sorry, I didn't read Ivan's text. My second place and therefore the actual winner is Vaskebjorn!

Just in case nobody noticed, I closed the contest and picked the winners yesterday in the original thread. Here‘s what I had to say:
Hello there, the contest is closed. Thanks everyone for your submissions and sorry for the delay, I‘m very busy these days. Unfortunately, that‘s also the reason why I can‘t go into detail on each photograph, so here are my my winners:
Third place: Vaskebjorn - explosive
Second place: pquirk - what a moment
And the winner is: Yaki - great capture and composition
As the famous Sepp Herberger said, after the game is before the game - go, Yaki!

I'm not a birder by a long stretch, but sometimes you just have to take a picture. This is my favourite picture with birds, so they have to be my favourite birds.

For the avoidance of doubt: your photo does not have to depict a vehicle, vessel or other means of transportation. Any scene related to public transport qualifies, it doesn't matter if it's just a scene from or around a station, airport, ferry harbour etc. I attach one more example to make things clear.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to another Weekly Challenge on the one and only Pentax Forum! Christmas is coming to an end, it's time to turn to serious business again. My theme for this week is "Public Transport in Action", "in Action" meaning your photo should show an actual live scene of public transportation. So no pictures of museum vehicles, planes, ships, UFOs or whatever. Apart from that, there are no restrictions, as long as your photo has something to do with the topic.
The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.
This challenge will run until January 3rd, 2023. It closes at 24.00h, whatever time zone you're in.
Rules
1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Actually, it's the Weser estuary near a little village called Wremen. But still a sunset.
