This is a composite panorama as I had a long lens and could not get far enough back to photograph the entire tree. Rendered as an IR effect in editing.

Had a Canon point & shoot several years ago and the sensor went on it and all the pictures where a purplish red tone. At about the same time a friend had a different Canon point & shoot and it did the same thing.

Got a Spotmatic F in 1976 while in high school. At the time Pentax was more prominent and it fell in my budget. Since then I like the reliability and backward compatibility of the lens. Pentax cameras have served me well for over fifty years.

I've used the 10-17 for many years and it is one of my favorite lens. It works well in narrow streets in Europe as well as in more open spaces where you want to get a wider view. As with all lens it has it's flaws but nothing major and not correctable in editing.

Paintshop Pro is a capable editing software along with the offset to LR, Aftershot. They both have a different feel to the Adobe software and there is a learning curve. I'm in the process of switching over as I don't want to pay Adobe a continuing ransom just to edit my photos. My only real gripe about PSP is the the lack of reference material. Corel does post an extensive support section with lots of tutorials but I'm a book kind of a person and prefer a manual that I can flip back and forth through. So if you want to make the investment in time it is a good editor.

The K-30 as well as the K100 & K200 all work with a 720 red filter. The K-30 will required the longest exposure. I also suggest doing a custom white balance before beginning to shoot.

I would suggest in editing to lighten the shadow area on the subjects chest a little as it too dark and the draws the eye to that spot.

I have the Epson R2880 printer and only print a few prints a month but not had any problem (knock on wood) with the print heads. Having your own printer allows one more control of how the print is printed. I also do my own mats and I also do canvas prints. ---------- Post added 11-13-20 at 05:51 PM ---------- I use the Epson R2880 but print only a few prints a month and I've had no problem with the print heads.

I've had an eye-fi card for several years but rarely use it. The reason being slow transfer rate and high battery drain. Having said that, if you are doing photo shot and want to check your photo on-site it can be handy.

The inconsistent firing appears to be a common problem with Pentax DSLRs and high-speed triggers. I had the same issue with both the Hi-Viz and Nero triggers. In spite of trying several different strategies and a couple of different Pentax DSLRs I couldn't get consistent firing. Photooptimist's suggestion is the the way to go. Doing that I was able to get some nice water balloon burst and breaking glass. Good luck.

I have a gallery on a staircase leading to my attic study where I display large prints that I have printed on my 13" printer. I have also assembled collections and printed them in book form through online company. I heard a story about an actress in the 60's who would bring a camera on set and take pictures. One day someone asked to see some of the pictures and the actress said that she did not put film in the camera but that all of the pictures were in her mind. I take pictures for me and as such I am content to leave them on a hard drive after I've played with them.

I use a military surplus harvest sack or shoulder bag into which I put the padded pouch from an old camera bag. It can hold my camera & lens and a second lens as well as misc. stuff. The advantage for me is that it doesn't look like a camera or computer bag so it is less of a target when I'm wandering the streets somewhere.

The company I use to work for had a project with Kodak in the early to mid 2000's. We found Kodak to be bureaucratic, slow and inflexible. With Kodak's expertise and reputation (at the time) the project could have been a decent money maker but instead they blew the opportunity. I would agree with the article in many respects.

I believe that self-criticism can be constructive and helpful like all things in life the key is moderation. As for what other people think of your photographs unless you are doing commission work for the individual(s) it is less important. Remember that people have different tastes. I personally dislike much of the modern painting in galleries but obviously someone likes it because it keeps being on display. If you are taking photos for your own enjoyment then the only opinion that really matters is yours.

What you are asking depends upon a lot of variables: type of printer, size of print, how fancy a frame and/or mat, the cost of your time. Red River Paper has costed the price of just the print for a number of printers at Cost of Inkjet Printing Reports by Red River Paper. I invested in a mat cutter and have a supply of reasonably priced mat boards available to me. Now retired the cost of my time has been greatly reduced as I now have an additional 8 - 10 hours of "free" time each weekday. In the end I think it comes down to do you enjoy printing and framing your photos or are you happier to have someone else do it?
