Hi: I have a K10D but am a bit unsure whether the FA series works well on that platform? Might I have to jump to the K50D?

Hello,
I've am considering purchasing a Pentax WG-3 camera for underwater time lapse photography that I am doing in a wetlab. The microscope feature and low cost of this camera are what are most attractive. My concern is with the battery life. I have used an older version of this camera with an ac-adpater in place of the battery. The camera was in a homemade housing. When I would remove the camera from the 4C water to the air to change the memory card, condensation would build up on the ac adapter contacts and sometimes the camera would not function. With the WG-3, I think I could get around that by connecting the battery to AC via the USB charger. My question is: Can I take pictures while the camera is charging? If I plug the camera in, will it continuously charge to prevent the battery from draining down or is there a specific charge setting that the camera goes into? I do not have an example of the camera to look at (I live in Juneau, AK) and cannot find any information online.
I'd appreciate any assistance. Also, if anyone has ideas for other ways to provide continuous power to the camera for ~ 1 month in 4C water, I would love to hear them!
