Thank you! Sorry to hear but I hope your ready next time :)

Thanks! Yes it took some time.

First I must say, I'm really no expert in post processing and this is first time I'm trying this kind of edit.
I appreciate your tips and thoughts of how to improve, may be I will do another try on this one in the near future :)

Thanks! First image 03:24 and last 06:43.

Well, this is bits and pieces of total 47 shots with the camera static on tripod. The stars is from one if the images during the peak of the eclipse. The foreground and blue horizon from the last image and the town lights from another. It was quite hard to get correct exposer of the moon and I had some problems with clouds coming and going covering the moon.

K 24mm F2.8 - Short effective focus range?

From my experience, normally there's no problem with the fitting between body and adapter even on cheaper adapters, the problem is with the fitting between adapter and lens. Cheaper adapters normally have a cut/slash in the ring while better ones have feather (or what to call it). Currently I'm using the Novoflex and I find it perfect but quite expensive, I'm sure there are cheaper adapters that works just as well, just check the connection between the adapter and lens.

Good!

Bad!

Well, I gave around $100 for this lens, spend $400 more to modify is not an option at least on this one :)

Regarding adapter I use a Novoflex, I don't think there's a better adapter out there, it has really good fit with no play,

Yes focus stacking may be necessary in some situations, I will test that too.

I think your correct! I will do some more controlled testing and learn how to use this lens :)

No the adapter don't have any mechanical aperture control from the camera and if I set F2.8 I can see that the DoF is much shorter then F8, F16 etc.

Thanks for your replays everyone!

Savoche, exactly I feel I get a very shallow depth of field although I use a small aperture.

Well, may be I used wrong terms to explain my issues :)

Example if I use F16 and set the focus marker on little over the 1m mark I should get everything from 0.6m to infinity in focus but when I check the shoot I get ok focus from may be 1m to 10m.

There don't seams to be any problem with the aperture, I can see it's getting smaller and smaller for each step.

I don't have this kind of problem on for example the M 35mm F2.8 lens.

I can agree the rotational throw is very short, may be that's what makes it hard to set focus correct and I just set the focus to close. I haven't used this lens much yet but I will do some real testing asap!

Hello fellow Pentax users!

I'm new to this forum but used Pentax lenses for some time now and the vintage K and M are my favorites.

Currently use them on a fullframe Sony A7 and earlier on a APS-C Samsung NX11, both mirrorless cameras.

Not long ago I finally got hold of a 24mm, the K F2.8 in ok condition, but I have notice is has quite short effective focus range even on F16.

Is this normal for this lens or is there something wrong with the one I got?

Nice to see another A7 user!

I use this camera with some Pentax lenses and Novoflex adapter, all K mount

K 24mm F2.8
M 28mm F3,5
M 35mm F2.8
M 50mm F1.4
M 50mm F1.7
K 100mm F4 Macro
M 200mm F4

All of them are very good (except may be the 200mm). If you don't have any Pentax lens yet I would recommend you to get the M 50mm F1.7, they are very cheap and easy to find, also the 35mm F2.8 and 28mm F3.5 don't cost much and both have great IQ.

I really like the old M lenses which I often use. Does anyone know which production years these have?
