Yeah, I had to learn this too on the US forums. NSFW really is an all American thing like all machines beeping like hell when moving back or texts like "objects may appear farer away than they are" in mirrors ;) I think, one must be raised in the US to understand why a nipple is unsafe at work while blood is safe. I learned it by example ... Nudity doesn't really describe it as faces are allowed, beach wear normally isn't.
Personally, I'd prefer to drop NSFW categories in a photo forum as international as PF is and replace it by an artistic nude category.

'Tis the same here. Having said that, topless and bare backsides are not uncommon on TV here and full frontal nudity (male and female) is regularly seen on one of our federal govt. owned stations.

Trust me, I saw some pictures far more graphic than the TV coverage. I am talking about high res closeup stuff.

Oh yeah, I get that and am all for it. As far as graphic...might want to check the original TV coverage of the Boston incidence that you refer to...

We must have some serious differences in standards, as far as graphic images are concerned.
I get the taboo of exposed tits and ass in the working environment of the narrowminded worker-bees and bosses in this country.
I do fail to see the need for sensorship of real-life horror of accidents and such, that could be useful for educating people of possible consequences of their actions or lack of...
Cheers.
