I purchased this lens from this seller almost a month ago.
This seller is a Canada Tamron authorized seller, and Canada Tamron was able to register the lens for 6-year Canada warranty, plus one year international warranty.
Somehow my copy of this lens isn't so great, get lots of weird soften images from wide open F2.8. I am planning to try F4 to see if this will fix the issue.

I own a K-3, battery grip, flu-card, and the new version of 100mm F2.8 macro.
I personally feel like battery grip is more useful compare to the flu-card
1. K-3 drains a lot of power,. I have 3 batteries, and say if I shoot half an day (roughly around 6 hours, with NR off, RAW only, highlight/shadow correction on [planning to disable that soon], by the end of the day when I got home, 1.5 or more batteries' power(total of 3) is gone.
2. Flu card sucks?
a. significantly delay the camera's start-up time.
b. I feel like it drains a lots of power and making the camera hotter?
c. real time live view on my android Nexus 4 is lagging.
d. Focusing was really slow on 100mm F2.8 macro? It was weird, I tried to focus on objects indoor under plenty of light coming from the ceiling light, but it was
slowwwwwwwwww.

xD. but if you check the amazon China website right now. http://www.amazon.cn/gp/switch-language/product/B0030GGS3O/ref=topnav_switch...A1AJ19PSB66TGU
It's 3,903.80 Chinese yuan, with current exchange rate(1 USD= 6.11 Chinese yuan), if you're in China, you will be paying $639 USD. They provide free second-day shipping and there're only 5 left. Well, it's not good for you if you're not in China, I think the warranty is only domestic? But Ricoh USA provides international warranty card if ask them, I think.
The main reason of my previous post is only to tell you that some other part of the world can have the Pentax cheaper.

I'm a little scared at getting second-hand stuff when it comes to lenses! But good suggestion, I will look around, maybe there's one that is making me comfortable enough to buy.
!!!in that case, of course Tamron!

I bought my brand new Pentax DFA 100mm F2.8 macro lens when I was in China this summer from jd.com(a Chinese version of Amazon, Ricoh China authorized dealer, very trustworthy website xD). There was a summer discount going on, so the final price of it delivered was 3800 China Yuan, which was equivalent to 614 USD.
Some fun facts:
Did you know that in China, many major online shopping websites allow you to pay at delivery? Which means you pay nothing until the delivery man knocks your door, and you get to inspect the package for damage before paying cash!(Some even carry small machine for you to slide your credit card)!
I saved myself once when I found out the Yamaha guitar had crack on the bottom, and refused to pay. Yayyyyyyyyy. No need to wait for refund.

Hi there,
which one do you think I should get?
Here is my current situation:
1. current equipment: K-30, stock Pentax 18-55, 50-200 lens, Pentax 100mm F2.8 Macro, YongNuo 560-II manual flash.
2. goal: shoot wedding photography and videography, and portrait photography.
3. Some photos that I took https://www.flickr.com/photos/lawjie/ , please use computer to browse it, I use ProPhoto rgb so it's a mess to
view them on mobile device.
4. budget: less or equal than $1000 (not a penny over)
The Tarmon one is around $500 while the Sigma is around $900. I am hesitated because when I was getting a 100mm macro lens, I compared Tarmon 90mm macro with Pentax's 100mm macro, found out that I like the Pentax's one since I feel like the Pentax's pic look more vivid compare to the Tarmon's one. Also i heard third party lens loses its value faster and its not as reliable as the original DSLR manufacturer's own lenses.

Thank you all for your replies!
It will be messy if I try to quote each of your posts, but most of you guys post makes me rethink a lot.
I have followed a pro wedding photographer to shoot a wedding ceremony in city hall. The reason why I complain about manual flash is because at that time, he used his 5D mark iii with several off camera auto flashes under AV mode, while I was too painful having only my 100mm F2.8 usable, and that YongNuo manual flash attached on my camera just couldn't make the natural-look light. (Later on I went back to the city hall alone to test out using in-camera flash to trigger the off camera manual flash, but never have an actual chance again to do a shooting in city hall again).
I shoot manual mode since day one of getting this camera, and am able to get the right exposure(I usually use center-weight metering mode with select focus point).
I think what I need to focus on is to improve my composition, direct pose skill and creativity.
Lens is indeed more important than camera itself, I guess I lost myself for a moment because of that super low price K-3.
I have decided to buy the Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Lens or Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 IF EX DG HSM Autofocus Lens at black Friday. Why didn't Pentax make such 24-70mm zoom lens?!
(This reminds me of trying out my friend's canon 24-70 F2.8 on 5D mark iii, too amazing!)

I know right! I found out it's pretty difficult for me to use other than my f2.8 lens in a city hall to shoot wedding...
1. really? I thought I lost a lots of detail already at ISO 1600.... by proper processing, do you mean Photoshop? I heard Photoshop is really
important for fine adjusting...but I only know how to use lightroom.
2. do you recommend that Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 lens? or what lens do you recommend for my work?
4.This is my flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/lawjie/ level: Amateur?
5. Whattttttttt. are you sure about this one! how can Pentax flagship camera not better than its entry-level DSLR?!

Dear friendly forum members:
Let's keep it short!
facts:
1. current equipment: K-30, stock Pentax 18-55, 50-200 lens, Pentax 100mm F2.8 Macro, YongNuo 560-II manual flash.
2. goal: shoot wedding photography and videography, and portrait photography.
3. Some photos that I took https://www.flickr.com/photos/lawjie/ , please use computer to browse it, I use ProPhoto rgb so it's a mess to
view them on mobile device.
3. budget: less or equal than $1000 (not a penny over)
current situation complain:
1. my personal accepted high ISO of K-30's: 1600, which is not really working for me for low light situation
2. not having an awesome all around zoom lens with F2.8, such as Tamron Zoom Wide Angle-Telephoto AF 28-75mm f/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical
(IF) Autofocus Lens for Pentax AF
3. Don't know how to a manual flash. Wanna try Pentax AF-540 FGZ P-TTL Shoe Mount Flash, but heard its plastic hotshoe foot is easy to break?!
possible solutions:
1. by all friends: save up and buy 5D mark III, once for all. They say some customers only ask for 5D mark III, regard less of the actual skill.
2. Myself: since I already purchased that sexy Pentax 100mm F2.8 macro, and nobody wanna buy my K30+2 stock lenses. I better off just stick with Pentax. K-3 + 50mm F1.8 for less than $1000; or just buy that Tamron 28-75mm F2.8 lens for around $500? What's your thoughts?
>.<

ohhh.! so it's called catalog. I found the option of "Export as Catalog"
or
go to "edit" - "catalog settings"
and there is the location of that .lrcat file. Copy that file I think will be fine too.
Just wanna put it here so if other people search this will find the answer.

I don't think there is anyway to copy that database with reference to the original file, right?
Are you using the free version or the paid version of Allway Sync?

Let me keep it simple!
1. All the editing done in LR(Windows 7, version 5.6 64-bit), will the data be saved in the RAW files(I only shoot RAW/DNG)? meaning that if I edited a DNG file in LR from computer A, and transfer the DNG file to computer B, will the LR on computer B load the DNG file with all the changes I made(for example: exposure: +0.6, highlights: -20); or will the LR on computer B load the DNG file as original file without any data changes that I made from computer A?
2. I just got a WD passport ultra from B&H(1.5TB for $69! quick! buy it if you haven't already!). Should I use the WD SmartWare category backup or file backup?
or should I use some sort of "file sync" software? what do you guys do? I usually copy photos from my K30 to computer internal hard drive, now having a external hard drive is making me unsure if I should directly edit my files on the WD passport ultra(external hard drive) or I should edit my files on the computer(internal hard drive), and keep a separate backup on the external hard drive?
Thank you for taking time reading this!
