Exposure bracketing images in separate folders

This is actually great idea. :)
Having all my equipment at home running Debian, this might actually do the trick.

Although, after last night shooting, I got home with 67 photos, most of which are HDR targeting shots of the pretty much same sunset. But I'll manage.

Thanks!

Mario.

Exposure bracketing images in separate folders

Hi,

I use K-3 body with latest firmware (1.40).
I tend to shoot exposure bracketing images for HDR to be assembled later on PC (5 images).

I use U3 user mode with settings for that, while 99% of time I use Av mode for single shots.
Images are recorded in raw format (DNG).

I wonder if there is a way to configure images coming from U3 mode to be saved in separate folder or distinguished in any other way.

At the end of the day I end up with lot of files and it is very tiring manually to determinate which of those where actually part of the same pack in term of HDR and which are single shots.

I found an option "Create new folder" in menu, but I have to reach for menu every time before and after my U3 shots set in order to accomplish that.

Any advice is more than welcomed!

Thanks!

Best regards,

Mario.

So I heard. :)

Today I purchased e-book from mr Yvon (Pentax K-3 e-book). I reckon it will be more useful than original manual.

Hi!

Thanks for the info.

Shutter count was 5 when I got it. After few pics I did, this was the output:

Camera: PENTAX K-3
Manufature Date: 2014:12:08
Shutter Count: 8

I purchased this camera near the end of February this year. Never had time to properly investigate this missing paper manual issue.

Other than that, camera works very good. I have no complaints.

My old K200 has 102k on shutter count. I replaced it with K3 this year and I like it. :)

I have no doubts it was new when I got it. Missing printed manual was a bit awkward so I asked the seller.

K3 body was purchased from DavisMAX via amazon.com in US.
Their reply was:
"I have reviewed your purchase and I am sorry you did not receive a printed manual. Upon further review I see that Pentax does not include a printed manual with this model. I'm sorry we are unable to send an item that is not included as we do not carry it."

So I was left with no printed manual. Am I the only one with this kind of twilight zone story? :)

Hi!

When I purchased my K3 camera body, I didn't get user manual in paper form. I like digital manuals, but I prefer proper printed one.
Does anyone know where I can order one?

I can print pdf, but it won't be as compact as the original.

Thnx!

Best regards,

But, lens i bought in 2009. I'm not sure if 6 years warranty covers lens bought in 2009.

Tamron 18-250mm lens fail to autofocus on upper end

Hi!

I'm using K200D and Tamron 18-250 lens for 4 years now for my travels.
In last several months I got to the stage where Camera can't establish autofocus on upper end of my lens focal length (last 1/3 towards 250mm).
It jumps before and after focus point all the time.

Manual focus works correctly.
Autofocus on first 2/3 of the focal length is also doing just fine (so far).

Lens is clean and all contacts inside the lens are good (checked by pentax local service).

This problem apeared et the beginning of this year and was getting worse in time. Now it is impossible to use autofocus on the upper end of the focal length.

I tried than lens on other Pentax camera - problem remains.
I tried other lens on myPentax camera - working properly.

My conclusion is that problem lies in lens, not the camera body.

This camera and lens got me 4 years of very pleasent experience with 4 times in Himalaya (among others). It workled hard, but it was never hit, nor left in humid.

Anybody had similar problem? Any idea how to troubleshoot further this problem?

Thanks!

Best regards,
