What's your fave street lens?

Hi Y'all,

I'm thinking of purchasing a nice wide(r) lens for street photography, but have no idea what to even start with....FA's, DA 15, 21? Sigma? Anyway, I will be primarily using this for a new "walk around" lens, so (small) size is very important.

Also, bear in mind that i am a poor broke ass mofo from a somewhat communist, but apparently polite country.

Suggestions, and image examples would be grrrrrrrrrrreatly appreciated!

Hi Y'all,

I just bought an AF 540, and the wireless function works great inside - what (if any) are its limitations outside? Should i be buying some sort of wireless triggers?

Thanks,

G

Its funny - I bought the grip about a year ago, and up until about 2 weeks ago, i haven't taken it off. But then i did, and now i love the light weight feel of the camera....

Go figure!!

Best lens for night city scapes

I live in Vancouver - and you are in for a treat (as long as the weather holds out!!). Your 50 1.4 should do the trick at night. Just bring a small tripod, and you should be fine!

Great night photograhpy can be had almost anywhere in the city - but make sure to check out Granville Island. Great night shots there. Also, you can take awesome, jaw dropping panorama's from Stanley Park. Yaletown, Main Street, Hastings (just don't get mugged!!) are equally awesome (well especially main street). When on Main Street, make sure to take a tour of China Town - it something to for your eyes, ears and tastebuds to feast on!!

From the pics on your blog you seem to be into nature photography, you should also check out Dr. Sun Yat-Sen's Classical Chinese Garden. Also Van Dussen Gardens. Both are world class affairs. Also, the North Shore Mountains will give you no shortage of nature. Then again, this is VanCity, so just walk around, nature is everywhere!!

Good luck, i'm sure you'll agree there ain't alot of cities like this one!!

Just picked up the last 40 2.8 at Kerrisdale Camera's here in Vancouver.
I was on the fence about this lens, but Pentax just gave me 200 reasons to buy!!

BTW - I think I'm starting to fall for this lens...
BTW#2 - I can't believe how fast the AF is with this lens!!!

Hi - I need some help and / or suggestions ....

I have the opportunity to start taking photos's of real estate for condo developments - if the developer / marketing agency likes what they see, I will get paid, and if not, well I guess I have a starting point to work from.

Anyway, has anyone done any work with house and or condo's? Any suggestions / Tips? Lighting? Staging? Angles? etc. etc. etc.

As for equipment, I have a K10, a 50-1.4, a 77ltd, and the 18-55 kit lens. Hopefully I will be also getting a 1 light strobist kit from mpex in the next few weeks as well.

Any help would be greatly apprieciated!!

Thanks!!

Hi there, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions / comments etc while using the Vivitar 285 setup - will be using with K10D, 50 1.4, and a 77 ltd.

Does this flash work well with Pentax Dslrs? If not, what would you suggest?

I am seriously considering buying one, but I have never used one before - also is $350 cdn (local no shipping) a good deal (comes with stand, umbrella, and cactus v2's).

Anyhelp would be greatly appricieated....
