Loving the contrast between the stunning bleak natural landscape and this remote Victorian engineering marvel

If we ever get some clear skies without rain where I can see the moon in NW England I am playing out with this set up.....
My much loved Q10, 70-300mm Sigma DG, Steinheil 2X auto PK convertor(2nd hand when I got it in 1988!), Photodiox PQ to PK, strapped to a 1990's Vivanco tripod + fired with a £4 ebay remote.
Tried indoors and yep it has a tiny field of view and can be carefully focussed - so now just to get out in the real world and see if it's any good.

Like many others I have a photo of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House that I was happy with (taken from other side of the bridge) - but the depth of colour and detail on this is far superior....... Nice Photo

I have a Vivitar 28mm F2.8 that used to be my 80's favourite shooter. Still takes a decent picture - but takes more time to set up with it being all manual - green button special. I also have a Cosina 50mm f2 and an 80-200mm nasty Soligor - not even tried these as they weren't the best even back in the film days.
Since my mid life camera crisis I have accumulated a 31mm Pentax f2.4, a Samyang 8mm fisheye as well as a daily grab and go all purpose Tamron 18- 200. I am toying with a (cheapish) fast prime (f1.7 or 4) to get those shallow DOF shots with properly dreamy bokeh backgrounds - but haven't decided which way to go just yet (50mm or 85mm etc.) - plus funds are pretty limited at the moment.
The forums have been a really useful source of information - so it is nice to join proper and no longer just be a stalker.

I have stalked the Pentax forum for a couple of years. Back in the 80's I had a PK mount SLR which I used as an amateur snapper - but then drifted into point and shoot Digital. To document my mid life crisis and touring a Pentax Kr was ordered and then a K-30 was added at the end of last year along with a few newer lenses. Now loving my Pentax DSLRs and travel so much.
