Where do you get that they are running at 500% capacity or that they need to clear out a year's backlog of repairs? A year's backlog... would you be happy waiting for a year for your camera? I don't think that getting a response within 2 weeks is unreasonable. Normal response is 1 to 2 days and they are running at half time so 2 to 4 days. That's response, not repair. Maybe don't make stuff up and then conclude I'm unreasonable.

I haven't sent anything in as I haven't heard any response yet nor has my dealer. I have a demo K-1 with a bad mode dial at <20 actuations. Won't change out of "M"anual. I'm going to call them but I wanted to hear from a disinterested party on their recent (during COVID) experience. Planning to use it on a trip and would like to set a schedule.

Yes, thank-you, I do note the reduced hours already though. The Ontario stay-at-home order was lifted June 2. I would have expected a response from Ricoh within 2 weeks nonetheless. Is there anybody who has dealt with them recently? Thanks.

I don't seem to be getting any response from either Ricoh or Sun Camera. My dealer (London Drugs) reached out just under 2 weeks ago and, apparently, hasn't heard anything either. I know Sun Camera has shortened their hours but still. Anybody know what's going on or have any idea what turnaround time to expect?

Thanks for posting this. That's the cheapest I've seen it in Canada and it looks like they are throwing in a 200G flash for free so... very tempting.

Looks like Camera Canada has this for $699CA which is $30 less than I remember ever seeing it sell for.

I'm going to Japan too, just after Christmas, but I'll be running around like a person trying to fit as much into a 7 day rail pass as possible. Are there any good camera shops (for Pentax) around Ueno station or maybe Namba in Osaka? Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up, cobbled a few sheckles together and bought it! BTW This lens also handles full frame. Apparently, Di lenses handle full and cropped sensors and Di II only handle cropped.

If online forums give a distorted view of the failure rate then one would expect there to be a broader range of failure types. Maybe not but a great idea for a survey.

My K30 crapped out with a mirror flop in January @ 1.5 actuations in Turkey. A rugged camera is isn't rugged if it's flaky. Still rooting for Pentax.
