Bonjour,
Your English is quite good, and glad to have you here. My first Pentax was an Ashai Pentax Spotmatic and I have loved using Pentax Cameras and Lenses ever since.

I too love the Pentax K-x. I have a Pentax K5 II and a Pentax K-1. I had a Pentax K-x several years ago, and gave it to my nephew to use in college. I missed the K-x so much that I bought one on eBay. Needless to say, I was initially disappointed as the autofocus did not work and it say the batteries were discharged!
But after studying the situation here on the Pentax Forum, I found out that a firmware update my help.
Sure enough, as soon as the firmware was updated, the autofocus worked, and the battery meter showed that the batteries were fully charged! See attached photo that I took just last week with the K-x.

Vivitar 80~200mm f4.5 Zoom Lens Flange fix

Greetings!

The main reason that I purchased my Pentax K~x is that it would use older K mount and M42 mount lenses. I have quite a few of them. One of them had a rear flange that would not allow the lens to fit onto my camera. Lucky for me, I found this website that told me how to do it. It was a simple fix and the lens now fits on my K-x and works fine.

I was really glad to see other threads that had mentioned the same problem, and pointed me in the right direction.

I used my dremel tool to remove the excess material on the flange. Instead of grinding the flange, I cut off the excess material with a diamond saw blade. The job went very quickly and I was able to keep a straight line while cutting.

Glad to have found this site. Thankful for all the info available. I have quite a few old early Pentax SLRs and screw mount lenses. I bought a used Pentax K-x to try out my old screw mount lenses on. Really like the K-x. It challenges me in ways that I have not used since the film camera days. I have used and love 35mm, medium format, and large format view cameras.
