Thanks for the input
I did try different lenses and that didn't work. I'm going to have a local camera shop tech look at it to get his opinion and go from there. I don't have the knowledge myself with the electronics etc. to do anything inside the camera.

I dropped my k100d onto a pool deck from a height of 3 feet. At first even though the switch was in the off position, the top display still showed how many pictures were on the sd card. I then took the batteries out and then put them back in and the camera won't turn on at all. The batteries were new that day, and I even tried a second set - no luck. Is there anything at all I can do to try to get it to work?
