Dig that crazy beard, hey is Joaquin Pheonix still in town, that might do... Does anyone know if there will be a working, functional 645D there? That's all I'd be interested in at the moment.......

It's a really great cam, I use mine with the HMC-40. The TM700 is lacking some of the picture controls (gamma, pedestal, etc..) that the pro cams have, but it has a great picture out of the box, better low-light performance than I expected (from my experience with other 1/4" HD cameras), better low light than the HMC-40.
60P edits natively in Premiere CS5, even on my old iMac.

I never said that the RAW data was or was not being changed, and it doesn't really matter, does it, I mean, if the settings you have selected in camera show up in Lightroom, then that is what is happening, regardless of the endless debate of whether it is or isn't or should or shouldn't, or whether it does or doesn't with a K100D in or if it does within Freeware Converter version 36 or whatever other folks may be using.
This was to assist the OP in knowing or confirming that the settings you have selected in camera will show up in your final image, for whatever reason. Running the PEFs through Pentax Photo Lab or SlinkyPix 5000 or anything else like that or knowing for sure whether or not the actual RAW data is being permanently changed (I doubt it) would therefore be a pointless and useless exercise. As well would be the debate of whether it should or shouldn't or how or why.

You specifically, and posts like this are exactly why I started out my post wording it such as I did...
Marc, are you shooting K7 PEFS? and importing them into Lightroom 2.4???????????
I tell you what, why don't you shoot some PEF's with a K7 and import them into Lightroom 2.4, then post your observations here!

Yes it shows up. This confuses me as this was not the case with my K20D PEF's and previous version of Lightroom

Well I'm prepared for all the flaming I am about to receive, and all the "are you sure you...." and "raw processor defaults......" etc.. so please, only trying to assist the Original Poster, not prove anything to all the other folks who aren't even shooting with a K7 and not using Lightroom!....
I shoot RAW PEF from my K-7.
All of the settings that I dial in the camera for the Jpg settings DO come across in Lightroom 2.4. Why? I don't know. This didn't happen with K20D and Lightroom 2.3
But it does. The numbers and values within lightroom do not change between sample images.
Shoot RAW PEF with sharpening turned down all the way, then turn it up all the way in coarse sharpening mode for more dramatic effect. then import both into lightroom, big difference, and the Lightroom settings do not change.

Seems to be clearing south downtown. the front seems to be moving north, so it looks as if it is clearing south.
I'm gonna head down to 2nd cup / quay. by the time I get there it should be more apparent!

Farfisa has the Nikkor 24 right now, so not sure if that lens will be there ;) but I will have the Nikkor 28 and the Oly 24 as well as a couple other of the Nikkors as well. I'm interested in hearing other people's opinions on some of these "alternative" lenses, I think some of them are excellent lenses as well as being plentiful to find and inexpensive! I don't bother with the work to convert everything and anything I can find, just the select models that have a good rep. Plus they can be used in AV mode and the K-7 does a really good job at the metering for them now.

Although slower, the 55-300 is actually a really decent lens. The tammy 70-200 is just about as expensive here in Canada though. If you are ok with manual focus and manual exposure, there is the excellent Nikkor 50-135, really good optics, nice bokeh.

That's about how I was using my zooms as well! DA*16-50 at 16 or 50 and the DA*50-135 at 50 or around 100.
Actually I prefer to have a set FL prime on the camera, except when inside doing more lively portrait stuff, which is about the only time I've learned that I actually prefer on-the-fly zooming in and out of differing FL's. So I sold my 16-50 and 50-135 and stuck with the 28-75 for portraits, outdoors, everything else is usually served better with primes. Several small light primes take up less space and weight than those two zooms.
Of course now with video, there's another need for zooms........ well the 28-75 might see some more duty outdoors and I did recently pick up a very good and very inexpensive MF 50-135 for video.

I'll be able to attend this one...
Check out the signature below, and make any requests for lenses you might wanna try out... I'll try to accommodate as many as possible before my back gives out under the weight!
Already committed to bringing the Zeiss 25, Zeiss 85, Nikkor 28 and Olympus 35.
I'll most likely also bring the Voigtlander 90 as well.

BUT, if it is a Mobile Safari issue, how come I could access the site on my iPhone for nearly 9 months, normally, (both 3g and wi-fi) then just a month or so (when I made the first post above) I was forced into the mobile skin, when I never upgraded the software on my iphone or even synced it leading up to this abrupt change.
So while it might be contended that the issue that allows or disallows the mobile mode of browsing is client-side, still I contend that some sort of change happened server side which forced this whole issue to begin with.
By the way the same issue developed last year for a while with another website (photography forum for N** brand) I frequented regularly as well as amazon.com. After complaining in concert with other iPod Touch and iPhone users, both Amazon, and the other photo site agreed to disable that from their sites.
Oh, btw, it isn't a 3G s or 3G issue, this is exactly the same on 3G, 3Gs and Wifi, (wifi on my own network and both in Canada and in US) on both my iPhone and iPod Touch, they both started this "mobile" deal at the same time (again no updating has been done on either)

Good luck with the tubes!

Nice Tutorial! Good work!
That ought to stir up some interest in some of these older Nikkor lenses.
It was hard to admit at first, but some of these Nikkor lenses are really really good! (as you can see in the sig below)
Another cool thing is that some of these lenses were made in huge quantities and are thus available in the used market about everywhere you look, some are downright bargains, others are still excellent deals or offerings that aren't normally available in K-mount. Like some of the shift lenses and some of the wide angles.

LBA never ends.. (not with the relatively short registration distance of the K-Mount  )
Thank goodness my signature doesn't have enough room to list all the K-mount lenses I've ever owned.
At one point after you've bought (and sold) most of the rare and exotic lenses (of course after buying just about every Pentax lens made) then the real LBA-OB and LCA kicks in...

handheld, but I got some acceptable results by exposing to the right as far as I could get away with.
RAW from lightroom, no noise correction, but because I exposed to the right, I brought down the brightness a bit and boosted the black level to get a normal looking pic.
the 1600 looks even better. It's definitely "different" looking than K20D noise. More noticeable at first (coarser?) but maybe more acceptable due that it seems to have less chroma in it?
But I think that even ISO 400 (with the K-7) can be ruined if it gets even slightly underexposed.

I have been working with my K-7 HD video on my iMac, (Final Cut Pro)
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB SDRAM
No complaints or issues, I also edit some JVC HM100-U (in Sony XDCAM-EX) I'm sure I could upgrade to a more powerful desktop for faster performance with the XDCAM-EX (35 Mpbs) format files, but the lowly iMac config I have now (at my Toronto location) seems to work just fine.
I think the configuration you run now should do the job.

Yeah I had the same problem on my Mac when I got my K-7 home, finder would crash when clicking on the files, or trying to play them in any piece of software would cause crash... updating the MacOS software solved all that for me as well.

I have the Katz Eye, not the jinfinance one. But once I got my screen installed and working properly, the AF BF/FF adjustments became a lot easier, because I could tell from looking at the split prism whether it AF'd correctly or in front or behind of the target, by the way in which the target was split by the prism.
When I bought the DA*55, I nailed the AF adjustment in just a couple minutes, without having to remove the SDHC card and pop into the computer, etc....
If you get your split screen adjusted correctly, it makes everything else a lot easier. But sometimes that in itself is a lot of work!
