Streets How to deal with the light

You could bring down the shadows if it is on post, or try something more HDR like like TaoMaas said.

Anyway, this is what I would have done with the image, you can see I really like it as it is, just did some local adjustments to background exposure and contrast/clarity on the subject.

Getting into street photography

Thank all of you guys for the help, for those suggesting I keep digital, I really want to go film shooting with this, as I already use digital for doing jobs, and well, the street shooting idea is for me to get my head into something I really naturally like, out of the stress of photographing parties and events.

Special thanks for MD Optofonik with the HUGE link and suggestion list, and also Multi-coated for the Olympus XA suggestion. For the moment I will go forward with the MX idea, and will later explore the Yashica 35 and Olympus XA as they're cheaper. Given time I'll give the other RF's a go, even the FSU ones, as they're also really cheap.

Thank you guys for everything :)

Getting into street photography

Hello guys, so, I want to start going into street photography, because well, I love it. The thing is, I want a film camera and I own only a Pentax K-7, which I tend to find a little bulky and non-discrete for street photography; also, who doesn't love film, right?!

Thing here is, I'm on a budget and I want a film camera, that's not a problem, but I'm really divided on getting a Pentax MX (or something like it) or a cheap rangefinder (probably a soviet one with a 39mm screw mount like a FED). So, I wanted your opininion on this, as I know these cheaper rangefinders can be rougher to work with. Comments, recommendations, anything really helps!

Thank you :)

So, cropped it with Lightroom 5, made it flat by completely lowering the contrast, adjusted some shadows and highlights; sent it to Topaz BW stuffy and started playing with grain and contrast, returned it to Lightroom 5 and made it a bit cold and green, because most of my pictures are that way and I like them.

Pentax k5 VS k7

But indeed, it seems I'll wait more and get me a K5.

And as far as my photography goes, I enjoy portraiture, and, when I go camping nature and macro.
I've been taking a look at some old primes and been really liking them, love the way prime lenses make me try different approaches that a zoom wouldn't.

Thank you! :D

Pentax k5 VS k7

Thank you very much, and even further for going trough the trouble of price searching for me, you see, the big problem is the fact that, in the links you provided me and in any other places, these cameras cost about 3000 dollars, a K5 costs about 3000 dollars. So the only option for me is to import, really, even with the import tax it's cheaper.

Oh, and if any of you are coming to Brazil in the future, please bring me one

Pentax k5 VS k7

So, I do know the differences between the two cameras, I know about each advantage or disadvantage of the sensors, ergonomics, everything. So, the real question here is:

I want to buy any of them by the end of the year, BUT, I'm on a budget and will only have the money for the K5 by next year, is best to get the K7 and more lenses or a K5 and less lenses(and great body)?

Sorry for any bad english, brazilian here.

Hey guys, I don't own a Pentax yet, but I love Pentax, the features, the old lenses, everything.
Just here to introduce myself! Name's Lucas.

(I'm looking forward to grabbing a Pentax K7 by next month!)
