Of course it will over-expose if you set the meter to ISO-40 when using an ISO-50 film!...

I have used the APO version of this lens before upgrading to Pentax 55-300. It is a good lens. You get what you pay for - and probably more because it is really inexpensive.
The only issue that I can see is the fact that the front element rotates as the lens focuses, which makes use of a polarizer difficult.
Other than that, it is perfectly OK for a serious enthusiast like me.

Actually this option is not necessarily related to Shake Reduction. It is for you to perform light metering if you use an ancient lens (Like my Cosinon-S 50mm/f:1.4 that I have bought 25 years ago and still use with my K100DS) on your Pentax DSLR. You set the aperture and let the body determine the appropriate shutter speed (Careful, NOT in the Av mode BUT only in the M mode. This looks a bit tricky) if you press the AE-L button (Or so-called "Green" button on your K20d). You might also need to perform some custom setting so that this "Green" button is used for metering. Remember; For some reason, you can not use matrix (Evaluative) metering with this lens.
So the primary objective of this option to let you actually "Use" the ancient lenses and not necessarily directly related to shake reduction.

In addition to all comments which are absolutely valid,
Specifically for the lady in front of the corn stalks;
A combination of f/2.8 and shutter speed= 1/1600 sec is not necessarily the best solution if you want everything on the photograph to appear sharp. Depth-of-field at that aperture is pretty tiny and it may even cause your model's ears appear blurred even if you have sharp focus on the eyes.
You might have tried another combination like f/4 and 1/800 sec or even f/5.6 and 1/400 sec (Again, if you want everything on that picture to appear sharp)
Actually this very comment is valid for the other photograph as well (Which marc Sabatella has already commented on). However, you could have avoided this problem by positioning yourself better (At a point where you can see all of your subjects - the people - at the same virtual plane)
Remember, keeping everyone at a virtual plane is much more effective than forming a semi-circle while taking "Group" photographs. This might seem odd, though, as you might think (And you are right if you do) you will be equidistant to everyone if you form a semi-circle. Yes you will be equidistant, but focusing of lenses do not work that way :)

Thanks very much indeed for the replies. I performed the same test using the famous "Focus test chart" that is available over the net today with the following differences:
1 - Removed UV filters on my lenses
2 - Performed the test under bright sunlight at the balcony
Here are the results, of course dependent on my subjective perception with my eyes:
1 - Sigma 70-300, Both on 70 mm and 300mm, AF enabled: OK
2 - DA 18-55, Both on 18mm and 55mm, AF enabled: OK
3 - Cosina 50mm f/1.4, Manual focus using the eyes : OK
4 - Cosina 50mm f/1.4, "Enable FI with S Lens used": Front Focusing
It looks like I will learn to live with it by not using the "Enable FI with S Lens used" option and contiune relying on the AF system on Pentax and Sigma lenses as I do not think that an opportunity of calibrating my 25-year old Cosina lens for the Pentax K100D Super AF or calibrating the AF system on the Pentax K100D Super particularly for this lens exists, nor I believe Pentax autorized service center assumes such a responsibility although the camera is still under warranty.
Again, sincere appreciation for the replies and would like to hear if I could have more options.

It looks like my K100D Super is slightly front-focusing when I enable AutoFocus on my SMC DA 19-55 and my Sigma 70-300 (Or select "Enable FI with S Lens used" option on my Cosina 50/1.4). I can roughly say that the deviation is almost the same with all lenses. When I perform this test using manual focus, I seem to have no problem at all.
Is there a way to calibrate the K100D Super or should I go for the authorized service center? (The camera is still under warranty)
Thanks

My 3-cents worth of experience says that what you face is actually not a "pixel" problem at all, based on the fact that the same problem occurs at different pixels on different takes. That happens time to time in night scenes. Some call it noise, some believe that this happens due to overheating of the sensor. I assume you can only see those so-called "hot" pixels when you examine the photos in RAW format. If that is the case, as far as I know, this should not be considered a defect and it should not show up on your prints or JPG previews.

A German brand (Obviously, like almost everything in the World, made in China) called Ansmann makes great batteries.
I use two sets of Ansmann Digital 2850 mAh in my K100D Super and my personal opinion about them are quite positive. I sometimes leave the batteries in the camera for several days (Sometimes over a week) without taking any photographs and the batteries do not lose charge.
It looks like they also sell their products in the USA (Ansmann Rechargeable Batteries and Battery Chargers) but I have never seen them at retail stores in New York and Midwest area.

Thanks for prompt reply, OniFactor
Hmm... So should I understand it like this?
"Although the camera is on manual mode and I set the aperture and shutterspeed manually, it will always check for correct exposure when I manually pop the flash up. And therefore, the consequence for this will be the premature firing of the flash."
If this is correct, than, there is almost nothing else to do, right?

Hello folks;
While a old manual-focus lens (Cosina) attached to my K100D Super on "2 secs self-timer" Drive Mode, everything is fine, i.e. the mirror goes up, 2 seconds delay, then the shutter opens with the flash firing.
However, when I attach the kit lens (18-55) the very same camera on the very same Drive Mode fires the flash when I press the shutter AND when the shutter is released (After the 2 second delay). Though this may not seem to be a big problem, it unfortunately causes my 25-year old servo flash to fire prematurely (i.e. 2 seconds before the actual photograph is taken). I tried the manual focus mode when the 18-55 is attached but this problem still continues.
Any comments for this?
Thanks in advance
