I suppose since my first dslr was a K50, that's what I would recommend. It was very easy to use and helped me understand the functions without being too intimidating. I've since moved onto a K5iis which I love, but I think if this (K5iis) was my first camera it would be a little too much too soon. Of course YMMV

Hello, I am selling my Pentax K50 bundle. All items were purchased new and are in mint condition. No scratches, glass issues, dust or any other problems on these items. All are sold as a bundle only and will be shipped together via USPS Priority with insurance to CONUS. PP only please. Please no lowball offers, however I would listen to Will listen to Reasonable offers
K50: Bought new with the 2 lens kit (only includes the 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR lens). This has UNDER 1000 actuations and is in mint condition. No dust on sensor, screen perfect, MINT. The lens is in mint condition. All caps included. The shutter button has a CustomSLR red soft shutter button on it and there is another new one packaged with it. 2 new OOB AA battery holders (4 eneloops xx's included). The original battery and charger plus cord are in the box. All original paperwork and documentation are in the box.
CustomSLR M plate PRO in black with black C-Loop and Glide strap. All are in perfect working order and with no scratches. The m plate incorporates both the Manfrotto plate and Arca Swiss plate in one unit. All hardware included.
Mefoto Backpacker in gold. All legs screw down fine and although not the tallest portable tripod, it never had any problems holding up the K50 with 50-200mm lens attached. The only minor issue with the tripod is that the locking ring on the neck feels a little loose. This was used approximately twice. Comes with the travel bag and stock arca plate.

Here's my basic travel setup...
Incase Ari M. Shoulder Bag (day use)
Incase DLSR Pro backpack (travel and transport)
K-50
Ricoh GR
18-55 WR
DA35/2.4
F50/1.7
Mefoto travel tripod
4-6 fast SD cards
ND and Polarizer filters
Lenspen and rocket blower
Extra battery for the GR and a AA holder for the K-50 (envelop XX's in it)
Chargers
MB Air, charger and external drive (if it's a long trip and I expect to do some PP)
I'll throw in the 50-200 if I expect to need the reach. Ideally I'd like to replace both kit WR lenses with the 18-135 and call it a day.
Coming from mu-4/3's I am surprised that this kit is not any more bulky than my previous 2 camera setup. It weighs a little more, but that isn't much of a problem.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any experience using an Acmaxx filter on the GR. Specifically I am wondering if it helps prevent any dust from entering in the lens as well as if this filter is prone to any funny optical issues. Thanks much!

Hello all, I recently purchased a K50 with the 2 lens kit (18-55 and 50-200). I also have a 35/2.4 as well, however I am looking to add a legacy 50mm to my gear. The lenses that I am comparing are the DA 50/1.8, A 50/1.7 and the M 50/1.7. I know that many of you have had experience with one or all of these lenses and I am hoping that someone can provide some insight on them. Any one of these stand out against the other? Input appreciated! Thanks!

Excellent write up. I carried a variety of micro 4/3's gear for a while and after my girlfriend took my Pana GX1 I began looking for a smaller camera in the 28mm range (the GX1 always had a 14mm lens on it). After reading up on numerous GR reviews I pulled the trigger and can't be happier. I did just pick up a new K50 for use with longer lenses as well as shooting in inclement weather and I love this too however the GR is the camera that is in my bag at all times. Such a pocketable camera that is able to take exceptional photos.

Hello all. I'm a (soon to be) Pentax user from Chicago. I've used a few m43 cameras up until recently and while I wait for my k50 I only have a Ricoh GR to hold me over. Actually, it was the GR which brought this forum to my attention. In any case, I'm sure that I will be learning a lot from all of the collective wisdom here and am eager to start snapping photos with a Pentax in hand.
