Thank you Pentax lovers ! This is my first participation in this PentaxForums' monthly contest and I realize the value of participating. Just seeing how other people understand the theme et translate it into a picture is a "mind opener". And on the technical side... WOW ! Still a lot of such a participation down the road ! ;-)

Thanks ! ---------- Post added 02-05-16 at 08:21 AM ----------
Thank you Redpit ! I do agree with your comment, Without the black land, the final picture would have been more 'light' and a bit more significant. We always learn something from the others ! :D

The first exposure is a portrait took inside the house, the second exposure is a landscape captured outside, assembling the composite done in Photoshop Elements, then converted in B&W reinforcing the melancolic mood of the final picture of a man lost in his thoughs (and the clouds) thru a window.

In the morning, somewhere at the edge of a lake in New-Brunswick, Canada. The night before, I had spotted a few loons that dragged on the lake in the late evening. I promised myself to get up early the next morning to see if they would still be there ... The cool night helping, a small fog covered the lake. Under the rising sun, the lake took a metallic color. What a joy!

It has been long before I decide to try this ! And it has been long to get an acceptable shot too... Maybe it's this rainy Sunday that gave me this idea...
If you have already try this kind of shot, let me know how you got the shutter release synchronized with the exact right instant where the drop reach the water surface... :o
The manual focus was also quite difficult, as the drop is not exactly on the same plan.
Thanks !
PS: the exif data say that I didn't use a flash, but in fact, I did use a flash, on Cactus-v5 triggers. I don't understand why the exif is wrong, as I put the flash in Forced mode on the K5 ? Maybe it is about the built-in flash ?

Thank you everyone for your welcome !
For Joel : I do agree, some $$ in exchange of Cajun cooking: no doubt, you are winner ! :o
For kerrowdown : Don't wait too long, big money is changing the city. They are building 5 towers of condos in Montreal downtown, 50 floors per tower! :(

I’m happy to join a so large community of Pentaxians. I’m a regular user of Pentax Quebec where people speak/write in French, what’s a bit easier for me.
I recently upgraded from K200D to K5IIs. And no, I won't upgrade to K3… Not enough reasons for such expensive move. At the moment, the gear is not the main handicap to better photos…:o
I'm an enthusiast amateur and still exploring the digital world of photography. When I was a teenager, I had an experience in B&W lab. That’s where I got the “photo-virus”! I’m still infected and the illness is getting worse year after year… I don’t search any treatment, only full satisfaction of my vices…
Having fun with photography is my only objective here...
