ps. It is a 4/4 construction similar to the ZEISS Sonnar 2.8/135 of West Germany. But the Zeiss Sonnar's of East Germany are better, Nevertheless very sharp with f 8 and short times

kind regards - joe

hi,

Beroflex is the trading name for products of GDR, i.e.former East Germany. Like Carl Zeiss Jena, Exakta and Praktica they all produced and exported high end finishing products for the western market at very low prices. Within the years 1985 and 91 (until 2 years after the fall of "Berfliner Mauer") they made joint ventures with japaneese producers, especially for zoom lenses, but also for some single lenses. May be that this BEROFLEX lens issues of Japan? :)

Kind regards - joe

hi, It has a very similar housing and 4/4 optical design as Super Albinar 2.8/135 - and this lens has ZEISS capabilities at f 8 - extremely sharp (a Sonnar copy) - kind regards - joe

hi, no adapter, the new voigtländer lenses are produced for MF Pentax mount by special order. So the lenses are really expensive by 1.000 dollars - kind regards - joe

PS For old vintage Voigtländer lenses with ICAREX mount there are no adapters available - unfortunabely .-(

Regarding Porst 135mm f2.8 PK Manual Lens

Hallo, really, there are some old PORST lenses without high value and without achromatic elements , undoubtably! (same lenses of REVUE)

*** BUT ***

I've got 3 lenses of PORST of higher quality and WITH ONE ACHROMATIC ELEMENT - in order to improve sharpness at the edges and to eleminate CA's:

PORST TELE 2.8/135 with cheap plastic housing, but 5/4 elements (some flare wide open, but from f 5.6 up to f 11 very sharp and nice bokeh) - prduced by ENNA, Munic or ISCO Göttingen.

PORST AUTO N 2.8/135 with metal housing and 5/4 elements (very rare and expensive) , too !!! - not the frequent auto D with 4/4 elements, which is worse. (similar to ZEISS Sonnar quality)

and PORST 1.8/50 with 6/5 elements (very similar to Pentax 1.8/50).

All these 3 lenses are made of high quality glass, the auto N for macro shootings with extension tubes and the 1.8/50 for use with 2 x macro converter = excellent results with all 3 lenses stopped down to f 5.6-11 !!!

The best PORST 2.8/135 is the Auto N, because of its 5/4 elements contruction. auto D has only 4/4 lenses and is not so extremely sharp as AUT N !!! Auto D is fequerntly found, Auto N is very rare !!!

hi joel I'am from Germany, school teacher, k100, k200 and k-x. unfortunately the k100 was too near to my mobile. warning. separate always loading cables and handy far distant from your pentax:magnetism is damaging it, so that shutter time program is sometimes in trouble.I must move batteries and than I start b 1/125 sec.

Nice weekend

your truly joe

I am a new member of pentax forums. I am using ist ds, k100, k200 k-x and sometimes k 5 of my young sons. The lenses for these DSLR are nearly all used. The manual Pentax collection is arranged in 2 rooms with a lot of Pentax AF cameras. But why for such a lot of cameras and lenses?I have been teacher for digital photography since 5 years at a private school. - My wife find it a few"terrible", because there are arranged 3 meters photo-books, additionally. I like macro photos especially insect shootings as butterflies. That's why I modify my lenses, in order to get sharper results. This seems to be unusual, so that some members have asked me very quick, why for 10 points for normal equipment?I will explain and demonstrate it later by some postings and pictures ok? - kind regards joe8:)Ps I am preparing a greek-french-german grammar book within the next weeks. So in spring will follow some samples.kind greeting to all users
