I have been using Pentax since 1969! I agree with a great deal of what you have to say! The biggest problem I see is repairs.
In the past, I had repairs made by a company that was in Arizona. They were great and reasonable. Now Pentax is dealing
exclusively with another company that is expensive and from what I have have read - not very good. Pentax is only supplying that
company with parts. The Arizona company can no londer get parts from Pentax! This is not acceptable.

For urban settings I use Pentax SMC DA 16-50 F 2.8 lens. This is a great lens and very versatile. I dropped my camera in Germany and the point of impact was the edge of that lens. It destroyed the UV filter, and I could not unscrew what was left of it. I went to a camera shop and they ultimately had to cut off the corner of that filter. I bought a new UV filter there (outrageous price) and was on my way. The lens was damaged, and I didn't 16mm to high 20's. The photos I took 30 mm to 50 mmm were smart and clear. I had the lens repaired when I got home. Cost was about $150.00.
For out in the country so to speak my main lens is Pentax DA 50 - 135 mm. F 2.8. I occasionally have had problems with this lens just locking up on me. The Pentax DA L 55 - 300 mm is a fine lens. The Pentax FA 80-320 is a useful and very light lens.

I contacted KEH and they are really great people! I sent them my K 1 and they couldn't get the
parts to repair it. KEH will return your camera if they can't fix it and they pay the shipping cost.
I highly recommend KEH. Precision has a complete monopoly on Pentax repair in the US.
That isn't fair. Precision can charge whatever they want because there is no competition. I believe
what Pentax has done violates federal antitrust laws as it is a restraint on trade.

Warranty repairs can only be made at shop in Connecticut. It is over $300.00 for them to just at your camera as I recall.

Basically, I think it is an anti-trust violation. Pentax is restricting where repairs can be performed. It is a restraint on trade.

It troubles me that there is only one place in the US to get a "warranty" repair. There was a great place here in Arizona that used to do Pentax repairs. I spoke to them last month.
They can't repair Pentax cameras because Pentax will not sell them any parts. Precision Camera is very expensive. This may be an illegal tying arrangement.

Oh my! What an interesting photo. The "road" is a great leading line pulling your eye into the photo.
Fog always adds so much to photo like this! Well done.

He has presented a program to our club twice. This year he did the program for the yearly meeting of all
the Arizona camera clubs. You can see his work on his website and Face Book.

All those cell phones are pointed in the wrong direction; nonetheless, Brenda, fueled by alcohol and Red Bull, jumps over what she believes to be a hot tub.
There is a boat out there sinking and one is on fire. Next party will not be at the beach.
