I have the Sigma 10-20 F4-5.6 which is considerably lighter that the f3.5 (and quite a bit cheaper in the UK) but my fav. "walk about" lens is a recent purchased second hand 16-45 f4. Primes, like the 15ltd are almost always sharper but, obviously, less versatile than zooms. But we can get too fixated on sharpness above all else: I have rejected few images for being not sharp enough but plenty that were just poor shots. Finally, the Sigma is great but - as most Pentax users will tell you - most other brands cannot match the Pentax colours and contrast and I spend more time fussing over the colours of the Sigma images than anything else. Reading that back it doesn't seem all that much help to you now! whatever you get use it and enjoy what it does.

I have pentax lenese over 45 years old and still work perfectly. I have some "m" lenes not quite as old as that and they all work perfectly too. The new digital lenses certainly don't seem as robust but we'll have to wait and see - can only notch up 4 years with those but they don't look like they're about to fall apart

Hi, this is MichaelP from the UK. Just joined. Have been a Pentax user about 45 yrs. since a teen. Current camera is a K30 but I also have an ME Super and an MX which, the latter two of course, use the old 35mm stuff. Had the K3 over a year and I think its a great camera. And great that I can still use all my old "K" and "M" lenses - even an old Sigma zoom which supports the auto aperture option. Have eventually worked out how to get a Metz 36 AF 4P to work with the K30 too. Worked flawlessly with my old KM (Daughter has it now) but had issues with the K30 to begin with. Even got it to sync. at 180. Anyone else had similar problems? My lens line up: Pentax 18-55 DA; Pentax 16-45 f4; Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6 EX DC; and Pentax 50 -200 DAL. Old lenses area Pentax "m" 28 f.28; Pentax "m" 40 f2.8; Pentax "K" 50 f1.8; Pentax "K" 85 f2: Pentax "K" 135 f 3.5 and Sigma 28-70 F3.5 zoom.
