Really silly question for ye all - I have an irritating what looks like a speck of dust on my pictures at the moment. It isn't on the lens and I cant see anything on the mirror. Now I know that with the original SLR's, when the mirror went up, the film was exposed to the light. My question is where is the light captured now and how do I get rid of this blasted speck of dust?
Thanking you in advance,
Mark :)

Hi,
I have Version 1.0 on the old firmware, have followed the steps on the Update page for V1.05 and cannot even get the camera to upgrade at all. I have formatted the SD card using the camera and have the DCIM folder. Downloaded the update file no unzipping required according the instructions. The firmware info/options just stays at the version screen and does not give me the opportunity to upgrade. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers :)

Thank you all for the suggestions. Now, does anybody have a sofa I can borrow, preferably with money down the back of the cushions?

Cheers gents, it's lucky it's close to Christmas!
I've been going round the house just shooting everything not having to worry about developing film - instant results + plus photo editing software - best mid life crisis ever :)

Hi, new member here...having just bought the K30 after umming and ahhing over the Nikon stuff. Your forum helped, thanks!!
I am new to the DSLR thingy, having started a long time ago with a Kershaw Eight 20 Penguin bellows camera (I kid you not!) Progressed to a Zenit and finally bought a Nikon FG in the early 90's. I moved on to the instant snappy cameras, but longed to get back to the good old SLR, so here I am.
I'm having lots of fun trying to remember all the old Depth of field, aperture settings ISO's and all that, my poor head!!
A quick question though, what two lenses would you consider to be essential to cover most scenarios, in your bag (I have the 18-55mm Pentax lens that came with the camera)?
Cheers :)
