Item for Sale
SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5-6.3 18-270 mm ED SDM

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location
Albuquerque (United States)

Item Description
SMC PENTAX-DA 1:3.5-6.3 18-270 mm ED SDM

This lens is in immaculate condition. It has only ever been on my camera, or in its case. It has never been exposed to the elements other than sun and perhaps a little dust on windy days. It has never been dropped or poorly handled in any way.

I did manage to lose the original soft case while out in the field and have replaced it with a generic soft case.

I have shifted to telephoto primes over the last couple of years and this lens has fallen into disuse.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.

That's a shame you had such a bad initial experience. I was worried myself that it would turn out poorly, because it really is a difficult, sort of ridiculous situation. I am glad to hear you want to go back. I think if you can pull it off it is worth all the discomfort. I am going to give it another go this coming May.

I would like to see you photos if they are available.

powderhound2. What ball head do you use with this plate. There is a bewildering array of these heads available. Hard to know what to choose.

I had my K-3 out last night to try some low light shooting at a party I went to. I was very impressed. Sure there is noise in the original, it's ISO 1600, but it was very easily cleaned up.

Existing light, no flash.

Below is the full sized processed photograph (although I really didn't have to do very much, because out of camera the shot was great!), and 100% enlargements with no NR and with NR.

Actually you can't process K-3 raw PEFs with Adobe DNG Converter. There is no support yet. They claim it is coming, but won't say when.
