What would you carry?

I've enjoyed reading the suggestions. Thanks to all who replied. I've decided I need 3 more lenses to have the complete kit for me (for now). I will be looking for a wide angle lens (10-17mm), a fast 50, and most likely the sigma 50-500mm. Going to be an expensive year!

My camera bag goes with me where ever I go. I'm new to photography and never plan to be a professional. I just like to be able to take a decent pic when the opportunity presents itself. I like outdoor nature stuff. Birds, wildlife, scenery, etc. I also need to be able to take pics of people, both inside and out. And of course I need to have my macro lens. I have a k5ii. Now with that knowledge what lenses would you have? Other than the macro I can carry 3 to 4 lenses.

Currently I have the pentax 18-135 wr, 55-300 wr, 35mm f/2.4, and my 100mm vivitar f/2.8 macro.

Received the macro lens 2 days ago. Took longer than I could almost stand. This was no fault of Hinman. He packaged it beautifully and shipped it when and how he said. The USPS was just really busy with the holidays so instead of 2 to 3 days it took 8.
Need less to say I love it! Everything is perfect. Thanks Hinman for a great Christmas present to myself.

Nanhi, no offense taken, and thank you for the reality check. Often I speak/type in an attempt to be cute without giving everything enough thought.
I appreciate your replies and hope I have not offended you.

So I bought a macro lens from the classifieds on this site from Hin. It's the Vivitar (Kiron) 100mm f/2.8 1:1.
I can't wait to receive it and start learning/playing. But I have already jumped in my mind on what to do for a flash. I've tried to look at a bunch of posts and googled a bunch but the information is a bit overwhelming. I'm leaning towards ring flash but also considering a regular flash and creating a diffuser. Any suggestions on flashes would be appreciated. I'm trying to find something decent for about $100. The camera is the k5ii.

I have a k5 ii and I'm looking for my first flash. My primary, first use is going to be for macro.. I plan to construct a cheap diffuser to add on to the flash. I prefer to stay on the less expensive side of things for now. Just not sure what brand I should be looking for that would be compatible with my camera.

Macro question

A couple of reasons I'm leaning towards the dedicated macro lens;

1. I'm not really the kind of guy into the experimenting with all the gear. I'm more of the get out and shoot kind of guy. My joy is in the hunt of the subject and the thrill of the shoot, not so much all the different ways to do it.

2. As far as money goes, I can buy the lens new for between $700 and $800 and if I don't like it /use it I can sell it for around $500. So other than the initial up front dough im not losing much if I don't like it. ( that's the argument to sell the wife)

I appreciate all the replies! One of these days I'm going to pull the trigger and then soon after start posting some results!

Thanks for all the great feedback so far! I plan to do mostly "nature" types of macro shots. Bugs, flowers, leaves, etc. I just kind of assumed a dedicated macro lens was the best option, but as it seems with most things I am going to need to dig deeper.

Pretty new to photography in general but am really interested in the macro side of things. I have a pentax k-5ii. I am looking for a dedicated macro lens and some sort of flash setup. Just looking to get some opinions on what lens and flash to buy. Max budget would be $1000, but I'm more than willing to build a flash set up if pointed in right direction. Thanks for any feedback.

Just wanted to say hi. Bought a k-5ii a couple months ago. It's my first real camera and I have a ton to learn. I'm sure there will be lots of questions.
