I think it's the first time I see someone using the word flimsy to describe the FM2n. An amazing SLR but I prefer the titanium Contax S2.
As for the ultimate tank, my only choice would be the Nikon F2AS.
I've gone full circle and returned to the Pentax SV, in my opinion the perfect Pentax SLR.

Hello,
I've been thinking of buying the original Pentax 645.
I keep hearing the VF on the 645N is much brighter, but I can't afford it, so I would just like to know about your experience with this camera.
The Spotmatic has a dim viewfinder, but I find it very easy to focus. The Pentax 6x7 VF is not exactly bright either, but I also find it easy to focus, at least with the 105mm.

Started with the Spotmatic, than the Pentax 67. Now I'm thinking of getting a Pentax 645N for landscapes and travelling.

I will also take a D over a Mat anyday. I much prefer the handling and also the character of the Yashikor lens.
The Yashica Mat is a good first MF camera and that's it. Use it, sell it and move on.

Because it's super fun ! Film cameras are amazing.
I can't get film colors with digital, has it's own look I guess and I love it.
I'm only shooting film these days.

Thank you ! I absolutely agree with you, it's the perfect combo. Landscapes, portraits... it just delivers !
But I would really miss handling a Spottie and a 50 1.4 ! So smooth ! :)

Thank you very much ! It has very realistic colors and it renders blues perfectly. I will stick to Portra 160 from now on...

Hello,
Every 2 or 3 rolls my Pentax 6x7 shutter jams and I loose a frame !
I can't advance the film or fire the shutter, so I remove the battery, the mirror comes down and I advance the film.
Today it happened again when firing the shutter at 1/60, the mirror locked up, only this time when I rotated the speed knob it automatically fired !
Is this a common problem ? Shoud I get it serviced before it gets worse ?
I don't shoot a lot so I think I can live with the occasionally missed frame !

You have to remove some parts, and it's not reversible of course, but it can be done !
I just don't know anyone in Europe that can do it right now !
