I already lost one Pentax genuine M 30086 and with second I've done some kind of modification which is now, saved in the camera box in the closet. I like hiking so the camera is always in the move and I was really annoyed when I lost the first one eyecup; seems like the Pentax made it all just of rubber just that it can be purchased again. Two weekends after that I got new one from Japan and I was start to thinking how could I make it unlosable. "I have to lace-up that little thing somehow", was my thought. And I've done some thing, but since I told you I like to hike, the last time when I was out that eyecup was hanged on monofilament fishing line about twenty-thirty times and it was so irritating to put it back to its place every time. This modification is maybe good for someone who isn't that much in move.
Then I bought two eyecups from jruss71731 on ebay. It has, and I quote, "metal and plastic frame that slips over the viewfinder frame, and a glass window to keep dust off your viewfinder" (unlike the genuine M 30088 which is all made only of rubber). I got it yesterday and it still must be tested but somehow I think I will not have any problems with it.
Some pictures are shoot with cellphone so details aren't that good. http://tinyurl.com/qesnp8u

Hmmm. I would leave pentaxforums.com logo and the word - DIFFERENT.
Simple and with giant impact. :)
Edit: something like this.

Well, with K-mount lenses, there isn't any problem, because pins are covered with metal from lens and, therefore, there is a contact. With Super Takumar 135/3.5 lens, pins are free from any "touch" and there's a lots of free space between pins and the lens. I pushed a little the second pin with key, and CIF was working, but that's not the solution. What do you recommend to do?

I think I'll try with metal (duct) tape or something similar.
Hvala. (:

Somehow, I like that boat and its way of complimenting the scene; the boat is tiny here, but with proper image size you can see its gentle mist form. When you zoom it (100% crop), you get this picture.
I hope this 100% crop will not be considered as the second image. ;)

Hi to everybody.
I just registered to this forum because I want to tell you a happy news. I intend to buy new K-5 II but it was sold out here in Croatia. Then, i saw this news and I said to my self "no way; impossible!". The only camera I like and now is gone?!
Then I decided to contact local dealer who then contacted Pentax in Germany which is central for whole Europe and they told them that the rumors are not true. This is their quote: "I checked in Pentax and received information that the K-5 II continues to produce."
The lady who gave me that information told me that I should phone her after Christmas so we can see if the Pentax K-5 II shipment came to Europe.
Well, this is indeed happy information for me and all you Pentax lovers (if it's, i hope, true)! :)
P.S. Sorry for my version of English!
