No, I wasn't offended at all, but I was concerned that my point might be lost.
added: I suppose I should have attached a picture of my Q-7 hung on the end of the physically heaviest lens I own - a 300mm Super Takumar. That turned out to be a disastrous combination with respect to Image Quality. In that case I literally did support the entire thing via my left hand, and the only thing my right hand did was to operated the shutter.

When I was a kid in the 50s, I had an AM transistor radio the size of a large book, a Brownie Hawkeye (3" x 3" cube) with an extra roll of 620 film, and a dime to make a 'phone call.
Some years later this changed to a radio not too much larger than a package of cigarettes, a Kodak Instamatic of about the same size, and a quarter to make a 'phone call.
Fifteen years ago I carried a flip-phone, an iPod, and a small digital camera.
Today I carry just one item - a smartphone that makes the 'phone call, takes the photos, provides the music, and also does a bunch of other things.
Will the consumer camera disappear? Of course. Will people be taking more photos than ever? Absolutely.
Time marches on.

One of the things Q can do well is, something needs deeper DOF in "relative" low light such as group pictures in limited space. You will have to stop down a lot to have everyone covered on larger formate camera, which will push ISO higher. You can still shot "wide-open" on Q :)

Good anecdote. Someone without social skills attempting to become self-employed in a service industry should reconsider their plan. :-) The dream might remain alive if they have a bubbly wife or hire similar for the front of business.

Notoriously, most companies don't like giving actual sales numbers for various items, not to the public, not even to stockholders.
They think the negatives of such disclosures outweigh the positives.
Even a massive company like Apple picks and chooses - it's been coy on its Watch sales, for instance.
The Japanese camera firms traditionally will let their data be aggregated so as to be non-identifying - this is the source of CIPA figures.

With wildlife photography you will use the longest/fastest lens that you can afford and wield. End of story. Has nothing to do with equivalence.
As to whether or not you should use a full frame camera, probably not, because you'll probably be cropping your D800 past APS-C levels. Once again, not an equivalence thing, just common sense. If you aren't using the outer one half of your sensor, why pay for it?
