for some serious reach and IMHO impeccable optical performance. Bought mine used for eur 30,- on *bay, it is labeled Walimex, probably also available as Vivitar, Bower etc. German readers will recognize this as the modern incarnation of the Wundertüte that was sold 30 - 40 years ago under the Beroflex label.
Distance about 1km, stopped down to f/11.

Yes Edvinas, I sympathize with your plight - but then I remember that in a prior post you had told us of your defection to Nikon three years ago.
Now considering that the Nikon D810 tops out at ISO 12800, I have a hard time understanding what you want.
Besides, you had also told us before that you kept your three amigos, which you are now going to sell because the K-1 has inadequate frame rates... Or so you say. Again, considering that the Nikon D810 has only 5fps this is bordering on the ludicrous, particularly as the three amigos are known for many fine properties - but lightning fast is not one of them.

Absolutely. Count me in. I'll have my Q well done with a beefy battery, evf and a side order of a 300mm lens

I just don't get it. To me, multiple af points are for continous af where the action is fast and I hope and pray that the camera gets it right. No time to manually select a focus point. Or it comes in handy for focus stacking in macro photography. But using AF-S, multiple focus points and then manually selecting a focus point? Isn't simple focus / recompose infinitely faster and much more precise?
I imagine you have to frame the shot first, hold the camera in exactly that position with one only one hand while with the other hand you fiddle around with buttons, joysticks or touch lcd to select focus. Likely that means you have to move the camera away from your eye some way, too. That doesn't sound right to me.
Am I dense this morning or what am I missing?

All in good fun Kunzite.
I just think it is hillarious that you believe Pentax "allowing" (!!!) use of M and K lenses "should be seen as adequate". Last time I checked, it was still the customers who vote with their $$$ on what is adequate and what is not. ;) |

Will all heterodox (un)believers please cease discussion of such dangerous topics as uncrippled K mounts.

Sorry my bad - I was being presumptious.
Anyway, Pentax will either go forward with things like ovf, lenses, better battery etc or the Q will fizzle and die, which would be a real pitty. |

And of to my ignore list you go ---------- Post added 29-10-15 at 20:01 ----------
Thanks I'm familiar with that thread, posted there a bunch of times. The difficulty with adapted lenses - much as I love adapting anything even remotely resembling a lens - is that the current Q has so little support for it. With the current low res LCD and a very long lens it is very, very tough to get focus, particularly if the sun is out. So evf and an af superzoom would make life a lot simpler.
Sure, sometimes the results with top notch adapted lenses will be better than what we can expect to get with a superzoom, but sometimes the reverse will be true. And the latter solution will certainly be smaller (collapsible) and have auto focus. ---------- Post added 29-10-15 at 20:05 ----------
I'll second that dream!

Don't quite get your point. The Q is the smallest sensored interchangeable lens system in the world. If I wanted a bigger sensor, I'd choose a different system.

Whatever they do, a definite announcement is long overdue. Too many ff buyers have already moved to Canon, Nikon and lately Sony. Not all of them will come back.

Why should they do that? Increased sensor = new lenses, perhaps even a new mount. Might as well go with a 1" from Nikon or even mFT. Those cameras are almost as small as the Q and the sensor is much bigger. I have lots of cameras with bigger sensors, it is the small sensor that is the attraction of the Q - what gives it that swiss army knife versatility :-)

I don't understand why it should be FF vs APS-C. The question is and/or/neither but never vs. This ain't sports or war.
I don't understand arguments about the gear 'pros' use on a Pentax forum either. Heck, if that consideration had any meaning to us, we would not be using Pentax in the first place. Being a Pentaxian may not bring pro status but it sure means you are a discerning buyer.
Having said that I still want my FF and CP+ would be a good time for Ricoh/Pentax to finally let us in on their thinking :)

You know, the hullabaloo is more of a tempest in a tea cup - whenever I enter this sub forum, I see anywhere from double to quadruple the number of people browsing in the adjacent Pentax Film forum. Maybe Pentax should just release a film camera for Photokina? Now that would be a major hoot and a riot! :D Pentax going full format the old fashioned way...
