On what earthly basis do you assert anything about this camera based on three images shown on a rumor site. You know nothing and have no basis for even suspicion.
Sigh. Again.

Are you saying it will stop when they do? I thought we were speculating about the name of an unannounced potential / possible successor to the so far unreleased and unnamed first FF.
Sorry, but I think the silliness factor of that just overloaded my brain. No longer is it enough to speculate on the name of an unnamed (but at least announced) camera. Now we must speculate on the name of a camera that might be made sometime in the future if the first one is released and is successful. ;) :)

Isn't this just a euphemism for another word that starts with 'T' and ends with 'ing'?
Are you saying that your 'teasing' is no longer generating the activity it used to? Possibly it has nothing to do with the FF, just a decreased tolerance for 'teasing' and an increase in the number of clicks on the 'ignore' button.

By the same reasoning you could defend the absence of any metering support and/or focus confirmation for manual lenses.
With this reasoning, you could even easily have the forthcoming FF model not support screw drive lenses. Why "support technology of the past"?
This analogy does not work at all.
The more appropriate analogy would be Apple not supporting playing uncompressed audio files, i.e., only supporting the most modern lossy audio formats. The reason why this analogy is more appropriate is because it is easy and not intrusive to any users that have no interest in older technology to support older audio formats (just like adding an aperture coupler or better software support would be easy and non-intrusive), as opposed to do doing something entirely unreasonable (adding cassette playback to an iPhone).
Please read my posts more carefully. I explicitly said that I don't expect an aperture coupler to materialise. I'm not one of those people lobbying for one. I only said, the desire for an aperture coupler (or better software support) is 100% reasonable. I don't see why it should be ridiculed at all.
P.S.: While I'd be totally fine with the idea of an aperture coupler being dead and buried forever, I also think it would be very cool of Pentax to -- at some point in the future -- give people the option to spend some money to get one.
There could be a special edition of a flagship camera that would target those with a collection of manual lenses. I guess it would not be financially viable to do this, but if it were, it would be a great way for Ricoh to communicate that they value their existing customers and reward brand loyalty.

People keep trying to make rational arguments from the perspective of a large-format dSLR or MILC. They don't seem to understand that final absolute IQ is not the primary objective; ranking Q by that standard completely misses the point.
Please stop trying to 'nudge' me to make the decision that you 'know' is in my best interest. You and I do not agree on the feature ranking weights, so your conclusion of my best interest is plain wrong - but that's a common complaint these days.
I tire of being told someone understands my best interest better than I do and that I am too stupid or poorly educated or unsophisticated to make good decisions, so 'said someone' will make my 'good' decisions for me.
Q does precisely what I bought it to do. I have other cameras that do precisely what I bought them to do. OK?

As a 22 year old male I have to admit that my favourite camera is my MX; I've always preferred simple things to over complicated things and this is definitly the case in my choice of camera as well. The fact that the MX is almost entirely mechanical is a huge bonus for me, as electronics never seem to last as well as clockwork. In the end, it all stems down to image quality and if I can get a beautiful photograph without the camera deciding everything for me then I'm happy.
There are improvements that digital has brought that I like; LCD's, Histograms and Shake Reduction are all exteremely useful, but I've never had use for multi-segment AF, Scene Modes, or anything WiFi or internet related (honestly, who wants WiFi and GPS in a camera? My phone doesn't have either and I constantly have to tell people that I actually want it that way and it's not just 'cos I'm a tight git who doesn't want to spend more than a tenner on a phone).
I think features are definitely a case of each to their own, it would just be nice if you could have a stripped down, bare bones kind of digital camera.

Sorry but your wrong. It must be 31.92384, which is the cube root of the number of hairs on Oskar Barnack's head when he woke up the morning he invented the Leica. Your number, 31.84, is the cube root of the number of hairs on Oskar Barnack's ass that very same morning. Don't feel too bad though, as you made a typical newbie error.
Those of us who know the one true size will forgive you in a decade or two.

Yeah, it's: "it'll never happen" and "bah, it'll never sell", untill Sony just does exactly this and then it's: "oh, Sony is just shooting in random directions and seeing what sticks." |

Nothing like mobiles to generate impassioned debate. People love their phones.
Put mobiles and full-frame in the same thread, and the discussion could go on forever.
Now all we need to do is add equivalence into the discussion...

No, I just took one locking body cap per lens, took a 25 mm "hole saw" drill attachment, made the hole (centered by eye measurement), cut/sanded off the excess plastic. As luck would have it the focal flange distance is almost perfect with the JJC brand body caps. On one or two lenses I've had to put a little spacer between the lens and body cap (about 1 mm or so)
Then I used my old friend Super Glue. The red dot for bayonet attachment is nail laquer.
Tip: Use your girls good stuff! :)
The cheap brands peel off. I'd recommend Clinique! Have fun!!
