Thank you!
Do I need to worry about light and dust leaks with the Pentax mount?

What do I look for in an adapter and what do I avoid?
I am interested in the Russian and German vintage lenses for my K3.

I really like this photo. It just leaps off the page at you.
What is the background?

Thor loves to jump and he loves to catch the frisbee. And, even though they don't always happen at the same time he puts in maximum effort.
Then he rests in the shade for a few minutes. (I recognize that this image is a little soft but I still find it pleasing)
I appreciate the encouraging feedback. I am finally working a normal job after 20 years of shift work and am getting back to learning photography.
I use manual lenses from the 70's and 80's because I feel more involved in the process. (I don't even own an auto focus lens) So some softness is to be expected here and there, especially with action shots.

Missed it and rolled into the fence.
But he kept his dignity... lol

Thor misjudged his jump because of the wind. I almost didn't take the picture because he was obviously going to miss the frisbee. But I snapped it at the last moment and I'm glad I did. He twisted his body in mid flight. Even though he is facing the frisbee, he is falling towards the fence. But he never took his eyes off his favorite toy.

This is an excellent lens. The Series 1 lenses are so good.

I think the logo should be above the film strip. Right where the IZOD alligator would be. Then this will be the winner.

I need to take pictures of my friend's band. Tonight!
My only autofocus lens is the basic kit lens from years ago. 28-50 or something. I don't even remember. I have several fast manual primes and zooms. Camera is a K3 that I just purchased recently.
My concern is the lighting. Here are my questions:
1. What white balance?
2. What setting? Aperture priority, shutter priority, etc..?
3. Hand held light meter or trust
camera meter. My hand held is from the 1960's btw. (I used to do TLR medium format)
4. Anything I haven't thought of?

I would hang #12 on my wall and claim I took the photograph.

I just got a K3 and have an assortment of manual focus lenses from Pentax 50 1.7, and 135 2.0, Sears and Robuck and Vivitar Series 1 zooms and a few others. My only autofocus is the 18-55, 3.5-5.6 wr kit lens. I am currently trying to find a good all around AF lens.

I am attempting to adjust the diopter so that when the "in focus" light appears, it looks in focus to me. I'm not sure if I am being very accurate though. My eyesight has gotten worse in recent years.
Can I install the old style split screen to help? Would that affect auto focus?
The thought just occurred to me that I should try to focus on a book page.
Any advice is welcomed as always.

Is there an aftermarket battery that is better than the rest?

It froze in mid shot. I think the shutter is still open. I can't even turn it off. I was taking pictures in the snow and it got a little wet. Just drops off snow on it.
I cant look through the view finder.
What happened?

Messing around in the back yard for about ten minutes. K3 with a Vivitar Series 1, 70-210 and macro tubes. Subject is the rusting areas of a Lodge cast iron grill. Sun was low.
This was my first time using the camera. And I am not an advanced hobbyist so please be kind. That being said, I welcome any constructive comments.
I found it difficult to focus on the spider web. I should have taken many shots with various focus points. I also forgot to check my aperture. So my depth of field is really shallow. That was frustrating, oh well.
I look forward to doing a photo walk.
