Pets Pooh Bear (The Cat) Asleep

Folks;

OK, here's a close-up photograph of my cat "Pooh-Bear".....taken with the Q10 (Bold Color Enhanced). Anyway, I am having a lot of fun with the Q~10; I find that it is a very versitile little camera and it creates some beautiful images and I am just starting to appreciate what it can do (or, what I can do with it). So far, I've really enjoyed using the Bold Color feature as I prefer warmer colors to begin with (and, it takes me back to some of the color saturation I enjoyed in years past with Kodachrome and Agfachrome films). Plus, I have to admit, I am starting to like the "instant gratification" I get from Digital Photography (although, I don't think I'll ever stop developing film.....got the old DEKTOL in my blood!!!).

Thanks Much---JOE (in Minneapolis and ENJOYING THE Q~10!!!!)

Shots with The Q10 At Night & Cold

Folks;

OK, I've been away from the forum for a while however, my Q10 & I have been quite busy!!! Here are a few shots that I took during the past holiday season of my Christmas Tree and some shots taken at night in on University Avenue in St. Paul, Minnesota. The weather has been less than cooperative but, needless to say, the Q10 performed very well in these rather frigid conditions.....some shots were taken at -10 degrees so, I am very impressed!!! Oh, just so you all know, I tend to like saturated colors and some rather "expressionistic" photography so, I've included a variety of images.

So, enjoy these photographs and, as always, feedback is always welcome!!!!!

Best Regards---Frozed "Joe" in Minneapolis, Minnesota (where it's been a balmy -16 degrees below zero overnight......I am searching for Penguins and Polar Bears!!!)

Q10 Exakta Lens Adapter????

Folks;

Thanks much for all of your valuable feedback and creative ideas on how I could use the Exakta lenses on my Q10......the 400mm Telemegor is a "beast" of a lens....I took it out early one morning to take some shots of the moon by a local lake (as well as to capture some early morning photographs) and I got a lot of attention (no less than four Police cars in the span of two hours came down to see what I was "up to"....they had probably received calls about a guy out in the parking lot armed with a cannon or some other weapon of mass destruction). Anyway, I'll keep you posted on any new developments....and, of course, I'll share photographs as I take them (this, of course, could be a while as my wife is guarding the purse strings very closely these days....)

Thanks for the idea.....the Exacta lenses that I am using are for 35mm camera....I like your idea about putting the two adapters together to form one unit (now, I just need to convince my wife that this is not another one of my expensive camera adventures.......she would much prefer that I take-up the flute....but, that wouldn't be any fun, right????).

Q10 Exakta Lens Adapter????

Folks;

OK, I've had the Q10 for about two weeks and love the images with the 5~15mm Lens.....question, though, is this: I have a number of old Exakta Lenses that I would love to try on this camera (ranging from a 29mm Pentacon to a 400mm Telemegor...with a few other telephoto lenses thrown-in for good measure) but, I cannot seem to locate an adapter. Is this an odd or unreasonable request??? Does anyone know if such an adapter exists???

Thanks Much!!!!

Yes, the color scheme is based on the Japanese Evangeline series from the mid-1990's ---at least that's what I've read. It's a beautiful little camera and I am looking forward to working with it. Unfortunately, the weather in Minnesota is not favorable toward outdoor photography (January.....-10/F) and, as I understand it, the Q is operational above 32 degrees. So, most of the images you will be seeing from me will be taken of one of my three cats in & around my house. Does anyone have any experiences shooting with the Q at extremely cold temperatures????

Thanks Much!!!!!

Folks;

I just purchased the Q10 Evangeline with the standard lens configuration and I am very excited about using it!!! This is my first venture into the "new" digital world as I have been using medium format film cameras for well over 40 years and I needed something to shoot with when I am just wandering around and don't feel like packing all of my usual gear. I am impressed, thus far, with the ergonomic design of the Q10; while it is a very small camera, it feels extremely comfortable and definitely has some substance to it. I am looking forward to using the various filters and seeing what I can come up with when I take the images into Photoshop.

Nothing much more to add at this time--I'l post some images once I start noodling around with the camera.

Later--JOE
