Hello-
I bought a 16-50 in dec of 06 and ive never been happy with its focus. Ive read similar complaints here. At 50mm I can get a sharp image in manual focus but at 16mm its always soft unless Im at f/8 at a 250th or more. Even then its not blow up sharp. Im comparing it to the 50-135 2.8 which is razor sharp. I cant seem to find where the serial number is on the lens but does anyone here have any suggestions as to what i should do? Is Pentax recalling defected lenses? I love the range but im wary of using it now. Here are a couple recent images. the backlight in the wide is not a factor to the focusing. both pictures were focused manually. This lens is just so hard to focus.

just replaced my K10 and was unhappy with many focus issues but the new k20d seems very good. Cant believe I waited this long.
