I'm planning to keep the K-3 as long as possible (3 years, only less than 5000 clicks)
I will look for a replacement camera when 1) My K-50 dies + 2) A new Pentax camera (+ lens) with a big leap in AF system.
Even then, I bet the K-3 is still a great camera.

Looks like you need to perform focus adjustment for your camera+lens combo.
Focus using viewfinder use PDAF, therefore it's possible your camera+lens is back-focus or front-focus as shown in the Select pics.
Live View use CDAF therefore not affected. Therefore the candidate pics are always in focus perfectly.
You can refer to the manual to perform focus adjustment. I don't have the K-1 so that I can't give you the details, but I bet other members will chip in soon :)

I have several questions:
1) What is the raw file format Fujifilm took from 645z? is it DNG or PEF?
2) What is the format of the processed file coming out of image X engine?
3) If the processed image is JPEG. Does it mean a lot to raw shooters?
- Thank you.

I go with Pentax for the price and compactness.
I mainly shoot studio portrait and some landscape with a K-3 + DA* 50-135 combo.
Just a fun comparison (I don't intent to insult any mirrorless shooter).
K-3 body: weight: 800 g, price: $800 (the price I actually bought)
DA* 5-135 : weight: 765 g, price: $1046 (current at B&H, I believe the market price is around $800)
Combo: weight: 1565 g, price: $1846
Equivalent mirrorless system: Fujifilm X-T2 + Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8 R LM OIS WR Lens
Fujifilm X-T2 body: weight: 507 g, price: $1599
Fujifilm XF 50-140mm f/2.8: weight: 995 g, price: $1599
Combo: weight: 1502 g, price: $ 3198
Fujifilm Camera+Lens may have superior AF system, but I found the Pentax AF is sufficient. I believe the low light focus capability is just as good as Pentax (correct me if I'm wrong)
The X-T2 sensor size is 23.6 x 15.6 mm, the K-3 sensor size is 23.5 x 15.6 mm. I believe the image quality is pretty much equal.
The DA* 50-135 can be neck-to-neck with any similar lens in term of sharpness.
To me, I just cannot justify to pay $1352 more for a 63 g less system.

Congrats! It's an awesome camera. The K-3's low light focus ability alone just blew me away. K-3 ii is even a greater camera.

The range 50-135 mm as of DA* 50-135mm? It covers the equivalent 70-200mm full frame.

Try it if you have a chance. It's pretty easy, especially if your flash is in P-TTL.

Put the camera in Manual mode and only set the flash in P-TTL works best for me. Just make sure the camera is under exposed by from 1 to 3 stops by setting low ISO, stopping down or speeding up. The flash will be able to compensate automatically.
It's also good if you bounce the flash too. I almost always bounce the flash off the ceiling or a white wall if possible to make the light softer.
However, keep in mind the subject distance and the maximum GN of your flash though. If the subject is far away, you may consider increasing ISO.

The hot shoe replacement part arrived today. It was very well packed. It looks exactly like the original even though didn't come with the box. Took me less than 3 mins to install. Now my flash is as good as new.

My Pentax AF360FGZ II flash was literally broken by itself at the hot shoe mount when I stored it on its flash stand with no battery inside. The only weight on the hot shoe mount was the weight of the flash itself.
I bought it from B&H. Unfortunately it was out of warranty period.
I always use my gears very carefully and I haven't banged or dropped the flash anywhere to my knowledge. I'd used it only in a couple of events and portrait sessions.
The cracks look as if the hot shoe mount failed due to fatigue plastic.
I'm not going to send it to Precision Camera Repair since they quote a flat rate of $166.50.
Since the hot shoe was broken to many pieces around the screw holes. I don't think I can glue all the pieces together with my skill.
I'm not the only one having this experience. A user reported similar issue on B&H user reviews for Pentax AF360FGZ II.
Has anyone had any experience buying replacement parts? please advice.

I have the same issue with swollen Washabi batteries on my K-50 too. Now I'm opting for 4xAA eneloop + knockoff AA adapter.

Thank you very much for sharing. This is a very good news for my DA* 50-135mm.
How much more vignetting is the combo DA* 50-135mm + Pentax 1.4x rear converter?

Great write up and pics. Thanks for sharing your experience.
The K-3 is still a venerable machine, even when K-1 is already here.

Thank you Tjompen1968 for the pics.
Do the dark corners become worse without the 1.4x TC? What about stopping down, let say, to f 8?
