Just pulled it out of the reader attached to the Mac. Have done this with K3 and never an issue. Maybe K1 is different.

I have a new K1 and having an issue I am hoping you can help with. I take a few shots and load them into Lightroom from the memory card. When I put the card back into the camera it gives me a message that "the card is not formatted". The images are on the card for sure. I can format the card and can take more shots. Any thoughts?

I am a convert from Apple Aperture to Lightroom. I really like the newest version of Lightroom. I also use NIK plugins. They are great. Light to use the black and white tool (really good). Also use the sharpen and define tools. I would rlike commto no you consider the NIK set with Lightroom. The two will enable you to do almost anything you want.

I use Aperture. Great tool. More refined and elegant than Adobe.

I load the dng files directly into Aperture. No external converter is used.

Adam, thanks. The images with Bleach Bypass in the example you sent me look like mine. I do shoot DNG. So does the custom image settings have any impact on DNG/RAW?

Went out and took some RAW images the other day. They appeared very dark. Images did not look right. I did make some changes in Aperture and that helped.
I checked the exposure compensation setting. I usually have it set on bright. It was set on Bleach Bypass. Does anyone know what this is? What impact it has on an image?

Which lens is best? I have a 18-135, 55-300 and a 50mm. I am considering getting another lens for museums , the city and cars shows. Which would you recommend?

I have the same issue. I have never used PEF before. I am new to RAW. Noone seems to have an answer for this.

Apple just updated Aperture camera support and the K3 is there. I used it yesterday and it works well.

Thanks to everyone for your comments. I have decided to use DNG. I think the fact that DNG is a standard used by many is a good reason to use it. The images can be used in the future if PEF goes away.

I have a K3 and use Aperture. I have been using dng and running it thru a converter to get into Aperture. Aperture has been update so I can eliminate the converter.
So which format is the best? What do most of you use?

I switched from a pc to an IMAC and switched from Canon to Pentax. Also switched from PS Elements to Aperture. A lot of changes. I felt that the Aperture was a great fit
with the IMac. And Pentax was a big change from Canon. When I bought the Pentax I had originally planned on buying a Nikon D7100. Sure glad I made the change.
