Errr... I don't know how to PP out the vignetting in Lightroom and most of my shots with this lens are cropped slightly to straighten the horizon. Honestly I don't know much about Vignette and CPL filters , but afaik thicker (and cheaper) filter produce more vignetting with this lens.
Internet connection is suck here so I post smaller size pics. at this size do you see vignette in this picture JT? I use CPL and boost the fill light in Lightroom. |

Umm..the only filter that Chinese is the $6 GradND, The Kenko CPL is made in Japan Kenko Pro 1 D CPL 77 costs $140 cheaper than DA35/2.4.
But I must admit price and big names mean something.. more expensive filters surely will deliver better IQ, for me I'm quite happy with what I have now.
Almost every landscape photographer I know use CPL on their UWA lens. Why should we avoid CPL on UWA lens? CPL improve poor DR of our cam, it reduces reflections from some surfaces, it can darken the sky and it saturates the image more by eliminating unwanted reflections.
sometime I use GND stacked if the sky is too bright and CPL can't darken the sky as much as I need. Polarization on picture doesn't concern me much, in fact sometime polarization gives some interesting gradation effect on my pic, what I really concern is the vignette cheapo CPL produce.
Here's another example why I need CPL stacked w/ GND View the EXIF
I want to balance the sky and water surface.. quite impossible to achieve with my cam setting and bare lens. CPL strengthen reflection on water surface while GND darken the sky.
Thanks Tamia.. I never use a linear polarizer before, thanks for pointing me out :)

With so many thread you make about this purchase, I assume you already well informed. Just lay back and relax.. have fun with it and don't forget to buy extended warranty and keep the warranty card in a safe place. After all, it's only a $1300 gear
Bad Joke :o, The situation is if you are now camera-less and If you're looking for a superb high iso performance and wider DR you make an excellent choice. Don't worry too much, it's a damn fine camera.. just make sure they give you the latest production -just in case-

I was on my way home when the sky finally start to clear out, back to the beach and put the CPL on to get the sky's reflection on the wet sands.

Just received this gem a few days ago.. so here the pics. Not the best sample, but K5 makes the best of lenses I have. I'm very satisfied with K5 since for the first time in my life I shoot in JPG and use Tav mode with no worries, I must say the AF-C is very usable now and totally blow my K20D away.

Not sure if I ever post here before.. but here's some pics taken w/ this lens. I own this lens for almost a year now and it's definitely my favorite landscape lens (mainly since it's my ONLY ultra wide lens  )
