The problem I had two weeks ago (i.e., "'Epson Perfection4870' color matrix not found!") is no longer an issue with version 3.8.1. Nice!

Thanks for the idea of importing a profile. I was able to extract one from a scan and put into the ~/.config/darktable/color/in directory. In the meantime, I have been working on my workflow and am getting better results. Take care of yourself, and hope you're better soon.

I use the Wein Safe-Sync Hot Shoe to Hot Shoe with PC (available at B&H) for my old Vivitar 285 flashes. Not only does this allow you to put the flash on top of the camera, but you also have the option to use a cord from the adapter to mount the flash on a frame.

Stopped by the local camera shop a few days ago, not expecting any K-1 bodies to be in inventory, but was pleasantly surprised to find a shipment had arrived that morning. To tell the truth, I hadn't really decided whether I'd buy one in the near future, but with the camera in hand, the outcome was a foregone conclusion.

Here's a photo of my morning grind, taken with a K55/1.8 lens at ISO 100, f11, 2.5 sec and Pixel Shift. Below is a 100% crop of the detail.

Excellent shots, Rupert.

Chickadees are my favourites, but they seldom remain in one spot long enough for me to get decent images. I got these two quite a while back at our local bird sanctuary. The nuthatch was looking for food and came to my son's hand, but left disappointed!
