Hey Snostorm!
Thank you for the welcome. =)
Surprisingly, I think i understood what you are telling me. I actually have been using the prime lens for a while for that purpose, together with the macro/ food shot option of the Q.
I did consider getting the telephoto lens for the Q. But do you think it'll help? It costs around 6,000 Philippine Pesos here. Roughly $140. So i was thinking I might be better off getting an extension tube or an adapter. (Btw the K-q mount here goes for around $200.)
But I guess, I'm looking to upgrade things a little bit more with better macro capabilities. Eventually, of course, I'd like to go all the way to full blown macro lenses. But for now, I just want to slowly inch my way towards it. (Also giving me enough time to get a really good feel of it and save up for the big deal.)
What do you think? =/
Salamat!

Hi guys,
Sorry if I'll sound stupid but I really did try my best to understand what you guys are saying. (I got lost in the mm sizes and such.)
I'm a Q user and looking to get a macro lens or macro capability with my camera for food photography.
I get that the Pentax K-Q adapter works well but a bit expensive. Also considered the Fotodiox lens adapter mentioned but my concern right now is the size of the lens that I can attach to the Q with an adapter.
The main reason why I bought the Q over the Olympus Pen was for its size. And I'm afraid that if I use an adapter and use a regular macro lens with it, I will have to compromise portability.
I'm not a serious photographer. I'm just trying to get my feet wet with it so to speak. Main reason for me is to develop the skills to help with a food blog. So using a really good macro lens isn't really a priority. Plus it's way over my budget.
Can you guys recommend an alternative to getting an adapter for macro capability on the Q? I heard about extension tubes. Are they any good? I tried to research on the Kenko Extension Tubes but I can't seem to find any info if it's compatible with the Pentax. It only says that it's good for the Olympus and Panasonic 4/3s.
Salamat!
