Image of a grouse, I found it surprising that I was able to get so close to the bird, usually they are very skittish and can often fly away before you know they are there. It was during last years winter, when I saw a group of them on the side of the road. When I pulled over, many of them took off instantly, two stayed behind, but when I started getting closer one flew off. This one here, that I took pictures of, let me follow it around in the bush, were I ended up falling through the snow again and again. It was all worth it, it's not every day that you find a wild animal that has a natural flight instinct, stay to try and figure out what you are. It must have been a young bird, that was trying to figure out what was friend and foe.

Here is a picture I took last month, I can't say this is my best picture but it is one of the images I enjoy the most (I have a really hard time choosing between them all), its just something that you don't see everyday. It was taken in the lower mainland of BC. Living further up north I never would have been able to get this picture unless I wanted to get my feet wet as they would only grow in wet place all the way up north here. And I just thought I would let you know that a fiddlehead is a growing furn, which is the curling part that you see here (I didn't know that until my bio teacher told me:).

So I started photography when I was 11 or 12 through 4-H. The photography leader noticed that I was really interested in my surroundings and could really look at a picture and compare pictures to find the better one when I did one of our judge days (to earn points we judge every subject, it can be fun). So I joined the photography club and bought a little point and shoot camera, had it for about a year or two before the photos started to become really pixalated, that camera rarely left my side! I bought a Pentax K3 this new year and I can say that I have never loved something more! I'm sixteen now and plan on learning more and maybe having my future career involve photography in some way. I enjoy photographing wildlife, I live on a farm so I photograph the livestock and pets, macro, birds (which is harder than it looks) and pretty much anything that catches my interest. So, yeah, really random facts about me...well this is awkward...
