doing some quick measurements, i measured the diameter and it turns out to be about 4.5 cm. it could also be 49mm for all i know, but i really can't tell. i think i'll take it to a local shop and try to ask, hopefully they have adapter rings i could use to tell.

sorry if these images are too big - but this is what they look like. and yes, they do mount on the front of the lens by getting screwed in (heh).
i'd like to know the size of these lenses; i believe they are 38mm but they could be anything else for all i know. if i take a ruler to the area with the threads, it measures to about two inches. i wouldn't know the size, but the diameter is two inches. that may or may not help, but hopefully help. i just want to know the thread size.

hi! recently picked up tristar wide angle and telephoto lenses at a garage sale. pretty good condition. they're both auxiliary lenses, as well.
i was wondering what the size is? i think they're 38mm, that's why i was asking if there was a stepdown adapter a few days ago. i think they're for the canon af35m camera, but i'm not entirely sure. anyone have any knowledge on these lenses?

it was a dumb question; I was wondering if I could use those two together, then I realized that in order to do something like that I'd need some type of auxiliary lens I believe.
so as long as the camera uses (I believe this is what you said) a k-mount system, I should be all right?
I am using a Minolta maxximum 7000 (yes, I know, no h8 pls D: ) so I wasn't too sure if my other lens back at home would
fit this camera.

as stated above, is it possible to? i doubt it can, but since i picked up a functioning SLR with a 52mm lens (tokina 28-70mm f2.8-4.5 AF), i'd like to know if it'd be possible to use a step up ring with a 62mm lens (tokina 50-200mm f3.5-4.5 MF). edit* oh wait, right, i just realized that wasn't possible. ignore this please!
if not, then... man, what a waste of a lens! D:

i'm looking inside the camera, and the mirror isn't stuck up. in fact i can move the mirror around (obviously not touching the reflective part of the mirror, just the backing). the mirror is down, and the release lever doesn't seem like there's anything wrong with it. i looked at the internals before i bought it. when i did that i remembered the release lever was in the down position when it was working, so i don't think it's mirror related. i could try removing the bottom plate but the screws have been screwed in too tight and i'm afraid i'll strip the screws. they aren't budging at all, either.

haha! you just gotta train your heart for it. back in middle school, we would run a mile every friday. about a year or two later i ran a 5k (without training at all :o) just fine. but then again, some people don't have the heart to do it :L hiking is a great alternative. i always loved those hiking trips we had in boy scouts.
thank you everyone!

yes, it could have been, if there were film in the camera. my apologies for forgetting to add it, but there is no film in the camera, and i never did put any film in it. it's something else, but it's not film related.
before the lever got stuck, i fired the shutter a few times and it worked fine, then while i would be pushing the lever forward, the viewfinder would be black, as if the mirror was flipped up and the shutter was open. it worked twice, like that, after that had happened, and that's when the lever got stuck. and just for clarification, there is no film in it

as the title says, after a few shots (and putting new batteries in after a while), my mg decides to derp up, and not let me push the film advance past a certain spot. it's on a orange dot, instead of a one, and i cannot get the bottom plate off to see if there's anything wrong, because it's screwed on WAY too tightly and i'm afraid i'll strip the screws on accident. i had bought this the other day, and played around with it, and it performed fine. only after dinner today, i had been playing with it again, and from what i remembered, it would:
1. after successfully pushing the lever forward and putting it back, the shutter would be closed, even with my finger off the shutter release.
2. it worked for another exposure, but that's when it became stubborn and refused to move. as far as i know everything else works fine (the capabilities of the AUTO mode).
the lever WILL NOT go forward and let me take another shot, i can press down on the shutter release as if the lever wasn't pushed in the first place, but the shutter will not open at all. i took a look inside, from where the lens attaches from, and there is no gunk on the mirror , or any other dirty things inside that i cannot see.
i've scoured google for the past hour and i still have no idea what happened to it. any suggestions?
